Really enjoying SNL UK so far. It excels when leaning into their weirdness of UK humour, like What Kind of Irish is Your Grandad and the Paddington sketch. Weekend Update is a joy. The musical guests have been great. Can't wait to see how it continues to evolve.

Just experienced my biggest fear and got stuck in a lift between floors, with all the power out. Thankfully the safety 'return to nearest floor' feature kicked in pretty quickly (couple of mins, felt like a couple of hours). But man, that was scary.

Big smile on my face after watching the new episode of The Muppet Show. I won't call it a reboot, as it's the same show we've always loved. More please!

The Muppet Show on Disney+ is glorious. They haven't tried to update it, or twist it in any way. It's just The Muppet Show you watched when you were a kid.

Mixed emotions watching the Stranger Things finale. Loved it, but sad to be saying goodbye to a constant companion of almost a decade. Ah well, time to start from the beginning again...

Post-show selfie after our final sold out show at Edinburgh International Magic Festival last night. Amazing way to end a year of fun with my fellow Four Magicians - big thanks to the Magic Fest team, the Scottish Storytelling Centre, and our fabulous audiences.

The annual watch of The Muppet Christmas Carol is complete and now the festivities can begin. I will never, ever tire of this wonderful film that fills me with joy every Christmas.

Appalling that the BBC provides a platform for those who spew hatred and division in the name of 'balance', yet drives out someone who speaks up for inclusion, togetherness and equality.

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

So sad to hear this news about one of my favourite places.

The Blue Lamp is closing on 30th December after 75 years. Rising costs have made it impossible to keep going. Aberdeen doesn't have an abundance of live music venues, and losing this one hurts. Once these places are gone, they're gone. ⭕ More on POST

Robin Hood opens at Aberdeen Arts Centre tonight with Philip Napier back as dame for his sixth Talegate panto. This year he's Nurse Little Joan in a show packed with Doric humour. Local talent fills the cast with daft songs, in-jokes and family-friendly mischief. ⭕ Check our review

Looking for contacts at small theatres/venues across Scotland, seating 50-100. Especially Inverness, Glasgow, Stirling, Perth, Dunfermline - but also interested in other areas that have active, show-going communities. Thanks in advance for all your amazing contacts!

Delighted to have written an article for the November 2025 issue of VANISH - International Magic Magazine about my good friends, Fifth Dimension and their innovative approach to safety magic.

Every year my dentist has a Halloween pumpkin carving competition for the staff. The kids in the waiting room place their votes with glee. So do the adults. Sometimes it's the smallest things that elicit the biggest smiles.

Sad to hear about the passing of Drew Struzan this week. He created some of the most iconic movie artwork we will ever see. The world has lost an incredible talent. Here's one of my favourites.
