The author is saddened to hear of the Death of Admiral Pavel Chekov (2245-2366).
Admiral Chekov was a longstanding supporter of Dr Devenish's academic career, and conducted several interviews with him across his career.
He is survived by one son, the United Earth Councillor Anton Chekov.

I love the idea of Organians getting super concerned only about the war that showed up on their Twitter feed one day and forgot it the moment the algorithm moved on to something else.

“What is the price of history? It is the price of tomorrow; we pay today, and the next day, and the next, until every one of our pockets are empty or there are no more dawns left to purchase. The future demands constant effort to create, and to be preserved. That is the price must pay."
"A Shame, Captain. It would have been Glorious."
The Organian War ends, before it has really begin. One chapter has no choice to end: but is the next ready to begin?
CHAPTER 17 OF THE ARSENAL OF FREEDOM IS OUT NOW.

"Well, Commander, I guess that takes care of the war. Obviously, the Organians aren't going to let us fight."
"A shame, Captain. It would have been glorious."
I really hadn't planned to be writing/releasing chapters about Archer's election run during October 2026 here in the States, but I didn't -not plan- it either.
It is making me feel a bit down the rabbit hole some days.

"The Red Devils" - Centrefold from the Federal Post magazine, 2264.
The Battle of Kobax (June 25th-July 10th 2263) saw the much maligned Federation Ground Forces best the Klingon Army after an audacious contested landing on a hostile world.

It has been one year since we all started on this project known as THE LAST FOUNDER: The Presidency of Jonathan Archer, 2185-2192.
Ch. 15 is available now, but throughout the week I'll be sharing BTS goodies

USS Intrepid is attacked in the Argelian Approaches, 24th June 2267.
Klingon deep penetration vessels caused panic throughout the Four Day's War: many of these ships remained trapped in Federation space after the armistice, causing a press sensation and a severe headache for Starfleet.
"For the first time in the election of the President of the Federation Council, active campaigning and news coverage seemed to actually matter. More so than any other election, this one was fought in earnest. The Era of Harmonious Feelings, if there ever was such a time, was officially at an end.”
The LP-8 "Clanulsta" Long Range Patrol Craft.
The last in a long line of failed small patrol and attack craft, the Clanulsta would see service with Starfleet, Memberworld defences forces and neutral star fleets from the late 2250s until the end of the 23rd century.

LP-8s carrying such torpedoes were prone to significant engine and spaceframe stress, requiring rapid and regular rebuilds and repairs to maintain spaceworthiness. Suck craft were sometimes named "Tuckers", because of their constant need for the sort of engineering "love" only NX-01 ever recieved.
LP-8 Clanulstas were in regular service throughout the 2260s, 70s and 80s, but only one "strike" Squadron - that aboard USS Glorious in 2267 - would ever make a combat attack on an enemy target during the Battle of Alshanai Rift

The LP-8 was designed for use on both planetary surfaces and, for the first time, for launch from Starship and Starbase hangar bays. Though slower than the LP-7, it's range was also extended an extraordinary 20 light years, thanks to the inclusion of new fuel-efficient Rolls-Royce Nacelles.
The LP-8, like the 5,6 & 7, was designed to launch sensor probes and torpedoes on a accelerating carriage or "doggy-sled", as the crews dubbed it. Though initial specs and field regulations called for use of Type IV micro-torpedoes, the LP-8 could carry full size Type VIII-IX Torpedoes - just.

While too lightly armed to face up to Klingon warships, their small sensor signature allowed for covert surveillance and reportage on enemy movements. LP-7s remained in service with KLICOM after the war's end, with many fitting "Liverpool Pods" for minesweeping operations after 2259.
The arrival of the Soryu (adapted Federation-Class) and Long Island (Adapted Cayuga class) carrier prototypes in the immediate post-war period suddenly placed the LP-series in a perfect place for a steady tactical role.

It took until the first trials of the LP 6 in 2254 for the design to achieve a stable Warp Field at WF5: furthermore, breakthroughs in subspace communications and sensor technology meant that the possibility of the LP-series acting as a long-range fleet scout was now longer theoretical.
Though design and construction work was delayed by the outbreak of war in 2256, the LP-7 was rushed into service by May 2257, seeing action as part of the Rigellian defense force.

Speed was also a severe issue: though initial proposes aimed to create a craft capable of matching WF4 or 5 with the correct Cochrane conditions of subspace, development on the necessary micro-warp reactors to achieve that was stunted, especially after the WPL withdrew their design in 2253.
The LP2-4 were built in small numbers for use as planetary defence craft by the New Andorian Guard and the Saurian Space Fleet, but with an imposed. speed and range limit

The Clanulsta's long, complicated history begins after the Colonial Crisis. Starfleet Tactical's call for an ultra-low tonnage patrol craft capable of operating from planetary surfaces and deterring raiding craft saw a resurgence in the "carrier craft" model briefly advocated in the 2230s.
Initial designs for LP-1 and 2 emphasised speed and atmospheric flight, based on the view that these craft would likely have to launch from pads on a planetary surface: though they performed well on trials, early field deployments showed severe issues in sustaining a warp bubble above WF2.
To the meanlingless Earther idealism of Liberty, Equality and Autonomy, we oppose the three Klingon realities: The Rifle, The Bat'Leth and the Battlecruiser." - Admiral Quarn, Lord of Y’AvaonS.

The Palais De Concorde has served as the seat of the Federation Council since 2175; suspended on four columns above the Champs-Elysée, it houses the Federation Council, Security Council and offices of the President of the United Federation of Planets.

This painting depicts the moment when the being known as Ayelborne appeared simulatenously on Qo'noS and Earth, ending the conflict that became known as the Organian War.
"We have the right-"
"To wage war, Captain? To kill millions of innocent people? To destroy life on a planetary scale? Is that what you're defending?"
The General War reaches a crescendo, and nothing will ever be the same again.
