NEWS: Clay County School District is now considering removing libraries from its high schools, making empty bookshelves a real threat for thousands of students. This is the cost of the censorship agenda being waged against the state by DeSantis, his enablers in the legislature, and the right wing.

We celebrate ALL the incredible drag artists and queens in Florida (pictured and not pictured!) who have been standing on the frontlines to fight for all of our rights and freedoms! This vibrant community is essential in our fight for liberation! 💜🤍💙👑✨ #DragIsNotACrime

Pride Month may be over, but our pride never ends. 🏳️‍🌈✨ We're proud 365 days a year because LGBTQ people deserve to be celebrated, supported, and protected every single day. 🫶 💖 Tell us: What does Pride mean to you all year long?

10 years ago, hate walked into Pulse Nightclub in Orlando and opened fire. 49 souls, guilty of nothing more than enjoying Latin Night, were taken. Today and every day, we commit to #HonorThemWithAction and create a world they'd be proud of.

Since Pulse, FL has become both the epicenter of anti-LGBTQ attacks and the front line of the resistance against them. Time and again, LGBTQ Floridians and our allies have responded by organizing, advocating, and showing up - turning grief into purpose and pain into progress.

As we mark this remembrance, we recommit ourselves to the promise we made ten years ago: to honor the 49 not only with our remembrance, but through the ongoing work of creating a safer, more just future for every person — including the LGBTQ community.

The legacy of Pulse has always been that remembrance alone is not enough. We must honor the 49 with action. That means confronting hatred wherever it appears, defending the dignity & humanity of LGBTQ people, and building communities where everyone can live safely and openly.

As we prepare to mark 10 years since Pulse, our communities are remembering the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the responsibility we all share in advancing the lesson of the aftermath: in the face of hatred and violence, Floridians chose compassion, unity, & love.

Florida is home to families of every kind, people of all backgrounds. And our state is made great when freedom, equality, dignity, and respect are afforded to everyone. Long after this proclamation is forgotten, that is the state we are building.

The problem has never been faith or family; it’s a Governor and his enablers whose exclusionary version of faith and family does not reflect the reality of the state they claim to represent. This proclamation peddles a lie: that faith & family belong to some more than others.

⚖️🏳️‍⚧️Florida's obsession with attacking transgender people just got called out in court. A federal judge handed AG Uthmeier another L – and blocked Florida's attempt to punish the American Academy of Pediatrics for supporting evidence-based healthcare for transgender youth.

Politicians have ignored experts, distorted science, & targeted trans youth & the people who care for them. Let this be a reminder: politicians cannot weaponize the legal system to silence those they disagree with. And healthcare decisions belong to patients, families, & doctors.

BREAKING: The Florida Legislature passed a mid-decade congressional map that violates the Florida Constitution and its Fair Districts Amendments approved by voters to prohibit partisan gerrymandering. This map is illegal, unconstitutional, and a blatant partisan power grab.

🚨 TAKE ACTION NOW: Lawmakers will be taking final votes TODAY on the new DeSantis congressional map, pushing a partisan redistricting plan. This is a blatant, partisan power grab. And it is illegal. Call your lawmakers NOW and tell them: No to partisan maps. 🔗 act.commoncause.org/call_campaig...

🚨 BREAKING: Governor Ron DeSantis has signed one of the most extreme and dangerously vague anti-diversity laws in the country (HB1001 / SB1134)—a direct attack on local communities that celebrate and support LGBTQ people and other diverse groups.

Let’s be clear: 🏳️‍🌈 Pride is not canceled. 🏳️‍🌈 Our communities are not going anywhere. 🏳️‍🌈 We will not be silenced. While the law doesn’t take effect until January 1, 2027, and won’t impact this year’s Pride events, its intent is clear—and so is our response.

We’ve faced attacks before. And every time, our community has shown up stronger, louder, and more united. Equality Florida will continue fighting alongside local leaders, organizations, and residents to ensure LGBTQ people remain visible, celebrated, and protected. We will not back down.

🚨 BREAKING: Governor Ron DeSantis has signed one of the most extreme and dangerously vague anti-diversity laws in the country (HB1001 / SB1134)—a direct attack on local communities that celebrate and support LGBTQ people and other diverse groups.

This bill is designed to intimidate cities and counties, creating fear and confusion about whether they can continue programs, events, and initiatives that bring people together—from Pride festivals to cultural celebrations to support for small and minority-owned businesses.

We are devastated by the heartbreaking news about Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer Bowen. It’s hard to put into words the weight of this loss. To so many of us, Nancy felt like part of the Equality Florida team. She was a true generational leader, and she will be deeply missed. Rest in Power, Nancy.
