Two days after Iowa changed the law allowing personalized license plates my father secured “BALDY” That’s always been both our nicknames. I truly am proud that the license plate will stay in my family. We literally have had that plate from the existence of personalized plates. Love my dad.

I had an uncle that served 17 years in prison for killing a dude in a bar fight and he LOVED when he got to get out for work. He made $1.75 per hour and absolutely loved it. Felt a sense of purpose. Started to feel human again.

And honestly, he was an awesome uncle once I met him as an adult. Told me the dirty side of life. He never once owned a vehicle and lived in many different states. Just getting picked up by random people. Doug was a good dude at heart.
