There's a couple metaphors here. Can't quite put my finger on it...

"Ordinarily, moving historical items within the building is a deliberate process overseen by curators. Hegseth’s staff dispatched its own team to relocate an Eisenhower globe. They dropped it...The resulting gash appears to be several inches wide." wapo.st/3WF2YQo

Please indulge me while I post this once more for folks who may be too busy during the week and only peek at Bluesky on the weekend. The NY Times invited me to explain why I think they're failing in their duty to warn the public about the danger of a dictatorship. And they posted the video online.

I am hair-on-fire alarmed. Particularly as a Jew. We’ve been in that place…

I’m alarmed that more people aren’t alarmed by Trump targeting Somali Americans and labeling them “garbage” and “crooks” who “contribute nothing.” Most of them are U.S. citizens, yet Trump says, “I don’t want them in our country.” If you know history, you know the horror this can lead to.

Oscar Belgal incident in Bronx is indistinguishable from a car jacking. Put in the same position I would probably have done the same thing - put the pedal to the floor.

Powerful.

One time my then spouse had her license misplaced on a previous (domestic) flight. On the return flight had to throw herself on the mercy of TSA. She got the third degree but was allowed to continue. There's a reason gate agents recheck passport documents prior to boarding...

Also, I want to highlight this part of the case for all the pilots and avgeeks out there. I’ve heard ICE is doing this with manifests from a number of sources, but this is, as far as I know, the first confirmation. Really shows the complicity of the pilot-in-command. This was an Omni flight.

And it's because the airlines don't want to be held responsible for booking a passenger on a return flight when passport control refuses entry. I don't know how this third country removal is working without documentation but I'm very sure that a lot of people are getting paid under the table.
