Played a solo game of Cthulhu: Dark Providence. Always a good time. Well, until Nyarlathotep destroys the world that is. 👹#boardgames #soloboardgames

Really excited to announce that fulfillment has begun for my game Stakeout! 🎉Can't wait for everyone to get their copies of the game! 🎲🕵️🔎

Whirlwind weekend at BGG.SPRING. In addition to playtesting one of my games, I managed to play 8 games. Here's what we got to the table: Dark Pact: Tom Lehmann is one of my fav designers, but this fell flat for us. The White Castle: Loved it. Ended up picking up a copy. #boardgames #BGG.SPRING 🧵⬇️

Up or Down: Really clever and super fun! Maybe my fav game of the con. Viticulture: Felt like it dragged a bit at 5p, but still a good time. Vicious Gardens: Fun and chaotic. Def swingy. Love the art. Black Forest: Great game, but I think I still prefer Glass Road. #boardgames #BGG.SPRING ⬇️

Fantastic Factories: Interesting dice placement, but gameplay was meh. Azul: Incredible, as always. What games did you play this weekend? #boardgames #BGG.SPRING

I recently picked up the newest edition of Arkham Horror: The Card Game core set. I have (and very much enjoyed) the original LCG (the first 2-player version, not the revised core set), and was anxious to get this to add more players and new content. Enjoying it so far! #boardgames #arkhamhorror

Working on some Roll/Flip and Writes. I love this genre -- always so satisfying to chuck dice and fill in your board/map/whatever. Do you have a fav Roll and Write? I'd love to hear about it! #boardgames #boardgamedesign

An early Christmas present to myself! 🎄I’ve actually had this game for a while, but have been saving it for when I was off for winter break. Can’t wait to dig in! 🧩💧#boardgames

Exciting news 🎉 -- Stakeout is fully funded and the first stretch goal has been unlocked.🔓Thank you so much to the backers, and to everyone else who's helped spread the word! 🖤🤎🩷🩶 #boardgames #dicegames #Kickstarter

I wanted to share some BIG news from Lamplight Games! 🚨 We’ve officially set the launch date for STAKEOUT on Kickstarter: September 16th, 2025 at 9 AM ET! Mark your calendars. You won’t want to miss it! Thanks so much to everyone who's been supporting and following along. #boardgames #Kickstarter

Look what arrived in the mail!! The components are just adorable (gorgeous art, of course). I'm so excited to play! #boardgames #KnittingCircle

Lamplight Games will be at Geek Game Days in Arlington this coming weekend (August 1-3)! 🎲 If you're in the DFW area and looking for something fun to do (and honestly, what's more fun than a weekend of playing board games?) -check it out! #boardgames #boardgameconvention #geekgamedays #dfwboardgames

🎲 In Stakeout, you're not just rolling dice — you're allocating your resources to outmaneuver your rivals. Investigations require specific dice values. Match them exactly, and the lead is yours. Are you clever enough to work the system? #BoardGames #DiceGames #StakeoutGame

Played a game of My Father's Work this weekend. Hadn't played this one in quite a while. This game has wonderful storytelling and amazing components. We got an ending I hadn't seen before. I really managed to upset the villagers with my focus on occult experiments. 🤣 #boardgames

Congratulations to Hisashi Hayashi for the @spiel-des-jahres.de win with Bomb Busters! 💣 I haven't had a chance to play this one yet -- but looks super fun! Have you played Bomb Busters? What did you think?

I do a lot of 2-player gaming, but interestingly only own a handful of 2-player only games. Here are my favorites. #boardgames #2playergames #gamesfortwo

Jaipur, by Sébastien Pauchon, art by Alexandre Roche Become the best goods trader in Jaipur. A clever and fun game of open drafting and set collection. Super easy to setup and play… and very addictive! I don’t think I’ve ever played just a single game.

Hemloch by John Clowdus, art by Justin Hernandez The darkness is waning, and you need to cement your house’s control over the city. Atmospheric lane battler. Players draw cards from their decks and play minions on locations vying to gain the most influence. Super fun and the art is incredible.

Vampire Empire by Filip Miłuński, art by Piotr Słaby Play as vampires or humans, each with their own deck and asymmetric powers. The vampires win if they overtake the castle or kill all the human characters. The humans win if they kill the vampires. Such a tight, fun game and super underrated IMO.

Agricola: All Creatures Big and Small, by Uwe Rosenberg, art by Klemens Franz Baby Gric! Fast and fun, with a small box and small footprint. There are no cards, so it plays similarly to the “family game” version of Agricola and makes this a really accessible 2-player alternative.

Just ordered my copy! Super excited for this!

Managed to barely eek out a win (103 points) in a solo game of The Manhattan Project: Energy Empire. I enjoy this one more multiplayer, but it IS a fun and challenging solo experience. Have you tried this one solo? What are your thoughts? #boardgames #soloboardgames

One thing I love is emergent storytelling in board games. When the mechanisms, components, and actions I take as player all come together to tell a unique and compelling story = chef’s kiss! The more the game allows me the freedom to imagine my version of events, the better. #boardgames 🧵⬇️

I designed Stakeout with emergent storytelling in mind. I can imagine staking out Miller house until Pete (who's sweet on Stella, the jazz singer's sister) spills his guts – and we learn that Stella has taken up with a wannabe actress named Clara. Stories always draw me in! #boardgames

Above and Below The art and theme in this game are so lovely, and it’s quite satisfying to build your little village. But the best part are the encounters. The choices offered add to player agency and help ensure that each time you play a new and compelling story emerges. #boardgames

Arkham Noir: Called Forth by Thunder This is a solo-only card game set in the Lovecraftian universe. Each time I add a card to a case I find myself continuing the ominous narrative in my head and the tense game mechanics and twisted tales always keep me on the edge of my seat! #boardgames

Evocative art, a snippet of text, or an intriguing name can spark a wonderful story, and I love imagining the game world coming to life in this way. So, I thought I’d share a few examples of games that promote emergent storytelling. And I’d LOVE to hear some of your examples too! #boardgames

Last Night on Earth is one of my favorite horror games because of the rich cinematic atmosphere. A scenario provides players with an objective, but the real fun comes through the dramatic scenes that unfold. This game always plays out like a movie, and I love it every time. #boardgames

Played a solo game of Agricola this evening. I love this game. First time I managed to get all 7 occupations in play. Started with the "Paper Maker" and used that to my advantage. Scored a respectable 51 points. 🐑 🐂 🐗 #boardgames #soloboardgames #tabletopgames

Just got a notification that Rear Window is coming to Netflix this Sunday! If you haven't seen this movie...I def recommend checking it out. Absolutely fabulous Hitchcock classic. 📸🪟
