Insert the silk cotton! It’s not silk, nor is it cotton. However, this might be another translation/dialect issue. The actual problem is… was this listed in the parts for this piece? NOPE. So now you have to go hunting for it while you’re probably dealing with glue on your hands.

And then: cut the fabric into two pieces as shown! Now, I know what the numbers mean, that’s part of the initial instructions before you start. Does this note that it’s the *other* piece of fabric? Nope. If you made the mistake of stacking the two pieces for the earlier step, you’re boned.

Now, we “cut the bottom”. The sides are already split. Why did we not just cut on the already split side of the fabric so we didn’t need this instruction at all?

These ones are ok. Ish. - I’m gonna let “turn over the fabric” slide as either a dialect or translation error. Though, there’s no red line on the fabric, this should say “like the red line” or “along the edge of the fabric.”

So you cut the fabric out using the pattern piece. Note that we can make a reasonable guess that we need two pieces for the front and back but the instructions sure don’t say “fold one piece over, lengthwise” or how to place the pattern. It’s just “cut the pattern”.

OH in writer chat: it's only a drawer if it pops up in front of the background elements. otherwise it's just a sparkling resizeable side panel :P

www.tomshardware.com/tech-industr... “It’s the ai’s fault!” it is not the AI’s fault. It’s your fault for choosing to continually use a hammer to handle glass and then being surprised pikachu face when things get smashed. We’ve already seen this play out multiple times. Why is ANYONE surprised?!

I can not tell you how I feel this in my bitter, black soul. I have spent the last week teaching an AI to do shit that people with a fundamental grasp of English understand. Today I had to mediate between 2 agents that were fighting about placement of information. Spoiler: both places were wrong.

Technical Writing then: We’re hiring you to write clear instructions to non-technical audiences Technical Writing now: We’re hiring you to write clear instructions to a robot

We’re having to teach AI how to do our jobs, instead of helping users accomplish tasks. The only “productivity boost” I’m getting is that since I basically never actually get the info I need, I ask the bot to find and read the code so I don’t have to wait for someone else to answer me.

Husband pulled up a “guess the spaceship” quiz and .. I did not expect to see Nell. I don’t think I’ve see that ship in 40 years and I still knew it instantly.

The core of the MAGA-GOP is not understanding the difference between apologizing for being white and being sorry for what has been and is being done in the name of whiteness (which they consider fair and “natural”).

coworker: do you have an example of this very specific behavior that's causing me problems with the markdown? Me: CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. *30 seconds* Here, there's multiple of those in this 1500 line page lol, sob.

In other not exactly news, I read my 50 book goal for the year and I’m managing to continue. I’ve read some of Martha Wells Raksura books (because while I’m hyper focused on Murderbot, she has other works). Also just finished @scalzi.com ‘s _Old Man’s War_ which was not at all what I expected.

It was really good though. Also read _Agent to the Stars_, which was very fun! I picked up several of his books in a Humble bundle a while back and decided to start working through them while I wait for my library holds to come in. One did last night so Banks’ _Player of Games_ is probably next.

Because the current cultural argument isn’t about sex; it’s about sex as a scoring mechanism for domination. Men who are sexually fulfilled without domination can be dismissed as lucky chads, deluded simps, doomed libertines, or any other dodge. In this conversation, “getting laid” is only a proxy.

MUCH EXCITE. If you like Murderbot, and are looking for something to read and are down for some cozy fantasy, grab the other two of @travisbaldree.bsky.social ‘s books in this world before this one comes out in Nov :)

achievement unlocked! I managed to figure out how to cut the stickers out with the cameo! The company logo ones didn’t come out as well because it cut all the lines and I need to figure out how to just do the outside ones. But, progress! ❤️ murderbot

Trying to put a few fun things into the world because.. yeah. I made my murderbot company earrings yesterday and then said “well, uh, what next?” Then I remembered I’d made mass effect paragon/renegade coasters I could shrink down. Also, playing with chainmail stuff.

And now I have myself a set of logo earrings, because I can. The detail is a little odd just because this is small and I’m using a .4 nozzle, but anyone who can see that detail and wants to comment on it is either: standing too close, or a fellow printer nerd.

What have I been doing? Rewatching Murderbot while I do a variety of crafting stuff. Yesterday I managed to print this Company logo based off the work done by someone on a discord server I’m in.

In case anyone ever isn't sure about the ADHD, I am currently: - standing in my kitchen on my laptop, while - the shortribs are cooking in the pressure cooker (just turned it off) and - the water is heating for noodles while I: - play with Silhouette software because i want to make stickers

and I've got my 3d printer running in the other room, printing a pair of inserts for WIngspan because i need one and so does a friend of mine. Now i need to make gravy before boy's parkour class.

I have a lot of feelings and I need to go stare at a wall.

Perihelion and its crew embark on a dangerous new mission at a corporate-controlled station in the throes of a hostile takeover... "Rapport: Friendship, Solidarity, Communion, Empathy" by @marthawells.com is a new #Murderbot story free to read at Reactor now! reactormag.com/rapport-mart...

I can not overstate how excited I am. Like, how much am I enjoying the show? I put down my phone when it starts and give it my full, 100% attention. It completely serves the dopamine needs of my book-reading, memberberry loving, ADHD ass, and I will probably rewatch the series a dozen times.

Amazing news to share!!! Thank you @marthawells.com again for such wonderful books. So excited to continue the adventures of Murderbot, Sanctuary Moon and if you’re lucky, World Hoppers (iykyk) Finale streams tonight. #appletv+ #murderbot

Went to PDX a couple of weeks ago, and visited the Japanese garden. Took the opportunity to play with Seek (i naturalist) to play pokeplants My friends: what now? Me: Pokemon, but plants!

Wisdom teeth are stupid, getting them removed is annoying, and cats are buttheads. I’m fine, just tired and a bit sore. Two teeth removed yesterday. Ultimately the whole thing went fast and easily and I should have done it ages ago. But now it’s done.

IT IS THE ABSOLUTE FUCKING WORST.

Google Docs is usually my go-to for document writing, but what is WITH all the AI? It almost unusable now. The Gemini UI barges in and appears wherever I'm going to type, and there are constant "would you like me to write/re-word this for you?" pop ups... why would you DO this to your own product?
