2023: 8,039 proposals 2024: 10,360 proposals 2025: 17,066 proposals 2026: 21,627 proposals Something's gotta give

Iva Vukušić@vukusiciva.bsky.social

This ridiculous number of applications is, in my view, the result of 2 nightmare developments happening concurrently 1.the precariousness of the job market for young PhD graduates which then fuels further: 2.the AI tools enabling overproduction of proposals. #Research #ERC #ResearchFunding #Academia

So… we just found out that GPT sol can complete a complex online behavioral/cognitive study producing nearly indistinguishable behavior and subjective reports… right as we are about to launch. Is this doomsday for online cognitive testing?

Very happy to be back at one of my favorite conferences 🧠#PUG2026 Come talk to me on Friday about our recently published MuSe database 📂(pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...) and very fresh results on speech detection and content recognition under auditory ambiguity in psychosis-proneness 💬

So excited to be attending #PUG2026! The KnolleLab will be presenting some great new data on neurocognitive alterations in psychosis spectrum. Check out the work by @esterner.bsky.social, @mirilangy.bsky.social, @prithasen.bsky.social, @onuricin.bsky.social, Bruna, Zach, Zlata and Maryia 🧠💡

🚨 Our database is published in Behavior Research Methods: link.springer.com/article/10.3... with Maximilian Stadler and @franziskaknolle.bsky.social If you plan on working with German speech stimuli, check out our osf for auditory stimuli and our online tool for selecting sentence material 🪄

🚨Finally published - I'm very excited to share this work where we investigated the role of coordinated oscillatory activity 🧠 during social and visual WM processes and how impairments in fine-tuning this mechanisms may explain deficits in individuals with high autistic personality traits.

Communications Psychology@commspsychol.nature.com

Social cognition is coordinated by interregional phase-amplitude coupling similar to visual working memory. This coupling could explain potential behavioral differences in social and visual working memory between individuals varying in autistic personality traits. www.nature.com/articles/s44...

I'm very grateful to have been part of this project (led by Elisabeth Friedrich-Higgs) and Paul Sauseng's team during my studies - learnt so much and fell in love with EEG 💫🧠

Well that was fun! A big thank you @cognemo.bsky.social @rssmith.bsky.social @esterner.bsky.social & R. Maramotti for coming all the way to Würzburg and delivering amazing talks. Bringing Active Inference down to empirical data is not an easy feat but today's symposium was really inspiring! 🤓

Thrilled to co-chair my 1st symposium @ #PuG2025. Make sure to drop by, this will be incredible! 🌟 Thu, 19.06.2025, 10:30-12:30 (session 1.013 Z6) "Active Inference in Psychiatry" w/ R. Smith, R. Maramotti, @cognemo.bsky.social & co-chair @esterner.bsky.social 👇 www.pug2025.org/de/sessions/...

🔑 Higher contextual predictability enhances temporal stability 🔑 Elevated schizotypal & autistic traits reduce temporal stability, particularly in highly predictable contexts where stable predictions typically facilitate language processing 🔑 This effect is not due to impaired sentence recall.

You are up to date.
