Greetings, Blue Sky!
My name is JCB. I'm an artist, animator, and game designer from South Africa!
I am currently working on a forest depthcrawl for Cairn, called Downrooted, and an as yet unannounced low-fi space adventure game.

My hottest take is probably that there is no difference between sci-fi and fantasy. One is the fake past and the other is the fake future. Different flavours of the same thing. Explaining how FTL travel works in your space story is the same as explaining how in-depth your magic system is.
The process is the whole point. There are no shortcuts. Writing the same piece of boilerplate a hundred times is good for you, actually. Relying on tech you don't control is a trap. The people who control it are genuinly evil. It's all stolen. Using it literally makes you stupid. Etc etc
Years ago when artists started not just allowing their work to be called "content" but actually started using that word themselves was an invitation across the threshold
Living in the slop era is making it very conspicuous that art being treated as a churn of contextless, interchangeable content, not rooted in any way, with the audience themselves being made of isolated consumers, has been the problem for a while and the generative llm shit is just an accelerant.

I have decided to do something with rivers. Maybe rivercrawl rules, river-based character archetypes, or a river location. I'm not sure yet, and I'm not sure how it'll tie into the lost & found theme. I'm going wherever the flow takes me.
Holy crap Daggerfall Online is crazy! The entire map of Daggerfall fully playable with hundreds of players. Plus a bunch of MMO-like mechanics added in for good measure. This might be my new obsession!
I got an overwhelming response. Thanks to those that replayed. Give me time to DM you all. I will have to go through your work and see if it fits what I need.
Tried to play the Stronghold 4 demo. Got hit with the Unreal "you ran out of memory" crash. My specs are well above minimum. To whom do I direct my ire?
hi all, I'm open to take on more design work! 👋
whether you wish to elevate your project with a custom-made logotype or need a stylish design to compliment your art, I'd like to help you with that!

Queen’s Domain is launching OCT 30TH!! ⚔️
Excited to announce our retro-fantasy action RPG with brutal combat and traversal-focused exploration will be available soon for PC and Consoles.
Coming to Steam, Switch 2, Xbox Series and PS5!
Downrooted, my Cairn 2e forest depthcrawl adventure, has a new cover! I am extremely happy with how this book is coming along. What started as a flawed and overly ambitious game jam submission 3 years ago is turning into an 80+ page book I'll eventually get to hold in my hands.
I really enjoyed the short demo. I've slowly discovered that I really like the genre of pilot-a-vehicle-with-ropey-controls-to-do-survival-or-puzzle-things-at-different-locations. Such as Pacific Drive and Outer Wilds.
This is a really neat idea and one I think could be modified for TTRPG combat as well. I generally don't like to get as fiddly with combat in my group games, but I can see this adding interesting nuance to a solo system.

We need a new word for the level of sublime vindication you feel when your skepticism or rejection of the latest tech bro fad/scam is proven right. That feeling for AI is going to be incredible. More so than crypto or NFTs.
As a new Harry Potter trailer makes the rounds, it bears repeating that there’s no way to watch this show without supporting J.K. Rowling’s bigotry and the structural violence she’s inflicting on the trans community.
