If the cyborg in The Terminator had succeeded in eliminating Sarah Connor, presumably it would have disappeared, its task completed. There would be no pieces of it for Cyberdyne Corporation to examine and develop their products (in T2). Thus no Skynet.

We are living in the future. 2015 Back To The Future. 2019 Blade Runner. 2022 Soylent Green. 2029 Terminator 1 origin. 2035 I Robot, Moon. 2049 Blade Runner 2. 2054 Minority Report. 2063 Star Trek: First Contact. 2067 Interstellar. 2084 Total Recall.

Furious that Chris Nolan would disregard historical accuracy in adapting The Odyssey by making a "movie" with "cameras" instead of memorizing the entire story and then going on a nationwide tour to sing it to us while tripping on ergotized barley

Tonight's dinner. Brisket of beef Γ  la bourginonne. One bottle of wine didn't seem enough so I added another half. Served with parsnips, carrots, brocolli, dwarf beans and boiled potatoes. A German pinot nor to accompany it.

We were re-watching some episodes of Beauty and the Beast with Linda Hamilton last night. Was surprised to see it was written by George R R Martin. One episode has Miyam Biyalik as a gangster moll. From 1988.

Oh William, you were so prescient. Let me have men about me that are fat; Sleek-headed men, and such as sleep o' nights. Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look; He thinks too much: such men are dangerous.

Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work. "Restore from your last backup. What do you mean, you don't have a backup?"

Pleased how this came out. My skirmish games use 20mm toys but I'm more inclined now to use 15mm sized buildings as they portray the footprint closer to the ground scale for Chain of Command. If I do go this route, I'll have a load of 20mm buildings to shift.

Seen on the promenade at Burnham on Sea today. These two plaques commemorate the 50 old destroyers gifted to Britain by President Roosevelt in 1940. They materially helped us defend the ships bringing essential supplies across the Atlantic. Each one was renamed, including one as HMS Burnham.

For no immediate reason I've started watching The Expanse again. I was immediately reminded what a great series this is. The details are myriad. Like the way bodies behave in zero G and under artificial gravity. I'm also struck by how much I'd either forgotten or failed to notice the first time.

I asked an AI called the Lyric Machine on Poe to compose a poem. The subject is the assault of Sword Beach on 6th June 1944 by DD swimming tanks from 13th/18th Royal Hussars. Here is the end product after 1 iterations which gradually polished the composition.
