We’re already restricting building and it’s not working, so why not just try it? what is so evil? if the result is either “a bunch more people have places to live” or “nothing gets better and some people I don’t like get richer,” that’s a very easy risk/reward decision?? we should obviously try it

you’d think NIMBYs would be thrilled at the idea of testing out the hypothesis either you get to angrily brag about being correct OR if you’re wrong, that means building did work! and a bunch more people have places to live! if you’re a left NIMBY isn’t being wrong kinda the best possible result
