This is reprehensible behavior. Not how government is supposed to work. They are all co-defendents.

Top of @nytimes.com app and website right now. Trump critics muzzle themselves because they are afraid of retaliation, including physical threats to their families. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/06/u...

Of course that instant of relief was quickly replaced by empathy for the victims and their loved ones. I'm embarrassed to admit that. Like Desi, I fear the only therapy is a full news blackout and sweet ignorant bliss. /3

- and please forgive me for this - when I initially read the headline about the tragic Potomac airplane crash, my very first unconscious response was relief - that some other piece of news had least temporarily knocked Trump off the top of the front page. 2/

Soon he'll try to sell off a few states and rebuild his 'portfolio', like they're hotels, offices, and apartment buildings

Trump: "FEMA is gonna be a whole big discussion very shortly, because I'd rather see the states takes care of their own problems."

Is there a way to filter/block all Trump-related news? It's a cacophony, like a child banging on a pot. I thought my distance from the US (I'm in London) would help spare me the intellectual & emotional trauma of seeing him wreck the US - it hasn't. And the UK media can't get enough. Make it stop!

That Biden found it necessary to preemptively pardon several people is everything you need to know about the incoming criminal in chief who publicly said he's coming for 'retribution'. None of them even have charges against them, let alone convictions! Contrast that with who Trump pardoned.

There you have it: Zuck threw up his hands on fact-checking. For him to say out loud that they will use the same approach (or lack thereof) as X is all you need to know. This will only accelerate FB & Insta becoming vile cesspools as X has. Fact-checking? We don't need no fact-checking!

Buh bye X. For 23+ years, it was a useful place to learn newsworthy things before the MSM covered them, or go down rabbit holes of interest to me. Over the last 18'ish mos, it became a total cesspool. The thing I found most useful, used daily, was the BLOCK feature. So here's to a fresh start

You are up to date.
