Haven't really touched the game since i made that last level except that Music pause/continue fix. Will do some story/lore stuff in the coming week hopefully - not that anyone cares, but the product has to be finished!

#AI, I want you to clone my game. Demo available for inspiration. I want to see what you guys cook. Release November 10th, you have almost 2 weeks. Let's see if careful design and planning wins against automated cloning. #steamgame #gamedev #indiegame store.steampowered.com/app/4759190/

I just released a really small Update for Cubic Color Confusion. I heard a bit of feedback about the "Pause Music when out of focus" feature and added a toggle to the Options. By default, the soundtrack will now keep playing when tabbing out of the game.

Will today mark a return to the first two days of #steamnextfest related Wishlist numbers? Probably not, but hope dies last. Cubic Color Confusion depends on your support, and if you deem it worthy after checking out the Demo, let me know!

#steamnextfest, for all its problems, seems to help Cubic Color Confusion get some attention. It's still niche by any means, but it's cool to see that spike happen, even if it's small in absolute numbers compare to other games. Thank you everyone! #indiedev #gamedev #steamgame

I am happy to see over 140 Wishlists. Thanks to everyone trying the Demo. It means so much to me that I am not the only person in the world thinking that the game i made had to be made. โค๏ธ

Well, who would've guessed. 100 campaign levels created finally. I'm "leapfrogging" the development process :D Any idea as to why that level might be named like that? #indiedev #indiegame #gamedev #puzzle

With NextFest rolling around, of course i am hoping for a serious push in visibility and Wishlists for CCC. But the achievement here is having created a real game that exists, critical and/or financial success is the bonus. The journey is the real reward, and everything learned.

For some reason, being productive when not under stress in any form is really hard for me - the closer i got to finishing the game, the less i did daily because the release date was so far away. I need some sort of pressure to shine - kind of like a diamond.

Oh, did I mention Cubic Color Confusion releases on November 10th? Listen to the aptly named (and new) song "Whatever" while staring that that release date imprinted on the grid. #indiedev #indiegame #indiedev #puzzle #steamgame

"All in One" - literally. This level features every mechanic that is in the game (except Wildcards, which are more of a built-in cheat than a mechanic). A fitting puzzle before the final level. #indiedev #gamedev #indiegame #puzzle #steamgame

The level before the last campaign level provides an additional break for your tormented brain by offering a callback to the difficulty of earlier puzzles. Not trivial (especially reaching gold), but a welcome and "Deserved Break".

Roughly two weeks until Next Fest starts. Visibility is still a major issue. As always, I won't ask you to just wishlist Cubic Color Confusion without reason. Play the demo, let it convince it deserves more visibility, let it make you want to wishlist it. store.steampowered.com/app/4759190/

It's been some time, but finally inspiration struck again. Take a look at "Second Time's A Charm" and "Assistance". Leaning heavily into the 3D element of the game, these two levels are a pleasure for the eye, but a pain for the mind ๐Ÿ˜‰ #indiegame #puzzlegame #steamgame

#ShowcaseThursday, #ThumbsUpThursday, #WhateverThursday you want to celebrate, hit us with recommendations or show off your work to join the celebration. As always, bonus points for content that isn't yours. #indiedev #indiegame

Puzzle games are niche. But also, coding the ruleset is the easy part. That makes puzzle games hard to copy, because understanding the vision and creating engaging levels is the art/craft needed. While AI or an experienced coder can mimic the base game easily... [1/2]

...actually copying the experience, the vision and design cannot be done in an efficient way. Maybe that lesson can be used for other genres as well. Even if you mechanics and core are easy to mimic, add something that requires real work and you'll be safe from copycats. [2/2]

Everything is slow recently, a severe lack of motivation and level ideas is dragging me down. Paired with the time i have left to complete the few remaining levels, i feel like i'm not stressed enough to actually perform.

Another day, another level. Milestone reached - 90 of 100 Campaign levels done ๐Ÿฅณ. This one is called "Triple Action". The two left parts are really easy, but the Jelly puzzle is kind of tricky.

Whoa, I'm on fire today - yet another puzzle done. This one is "Cubes of Time" and clocks in at over 100 moves. Interestingly though, i find it a lot easier to solve than the one posted before.

Another #puzzle done, this one is "Colorama". With a relatively small Move Count, this one is still very hard as you slowly progress towards your goal while keeping the grid in a state that allows the required moves. #indiedev #indiegame #steamgame #solodev

#MotivationMonday - stay strong in your real job before burying yourself in #GameDev again, people! And if #GameDev actually IS your real job, well... do it twice then ;)

We live in a world where meaningful #IndieGames made with love and heart struggle to gain visibility while even the clones of the stupidest of incremental games have hundreds of concurrent players. this world needs to end. we're beyond the point of no return it seems...

Today's stealth update changes Operator Feed behavior. Lots of players found it weird to interact with and didn't like the in-game popups. For that reason, it now shows directly after pressing start and then loads the level afterwards. After that, it doesn't force itself again.

Almost forgot #followfriday. It's time to promote things that should be followed into the weekend! Remember - bonus points for promoting an #indiedev / #indiegame that isn't yours!

People (including me) generally underestimate how hard it is to create a #puzzlegame. From idea to working prototype is like 10% of the way. Designing interesting and fun puzzles is the hard part, especially as a #solodev w/o external confirmation.

Happy #ShowcaseThursday, do your thing, promote something that deserves it. Get bonus points if you promote something that's not yours. #IndieDev #IndieGame I'll showcase a CCC level that I love for some reason. That layout seems familiar...

Here's a track that I plan to include in Cubic Color Confusion. It's called "Dreamwalker" by ArtariBeatz. Do you like it? #indiegame #soundtrack #music #indiedev #steamgame

The recent update brings several improvements to the Task Selection screen. Before this update, this was just a bunch of buttons with obscure names on it. The update introduced descriptions and progress information for each section of the game. #IndieDev #IndieGame

Happy #WishlistWednesday, #IndieDev and #Gamer! Show us a #SteamGame that needs more Wishlists, not just because of the numbers, but because it is an awesome #IndieGame and deserves it! bsky.app/profile/eyes...

Another day, another level made. This one is called "The Wall". With a move count of 49, this one looks easier than it might actually be. How would you start? #PuzzleGame #IndieGame #SteamGame

And Cubic Color Confusion now has its own category on Kick as well. Thanks for adding it! #Streamers can now use the correct category on both Twitch and Kick. Let's go! If you're covering the demo and are interested in doing the full game, DM me! store.steampowered.com/app/4759190/
