Our colleagues Tracey and Wendy are on our information stand at the Children's Health Scotland conference in Stirling today. We also have our own Louise and Laura delivering a presentation on the HENRY programme at the event.

We had another fabulous Friday at our play & learning session at Pollok, Glasgow. We were using new and engaging resources to support the children in developing healthy eating habits, and developing their balance, coordination and gross motor skills

We're delighted to announce that we've been awarded £1 million through the Scottish Government's Childcare Support Fund. This funding will help us provide flexible childcare support to over 300 low-income families across Scotland, removing childcare barriers to employment, education & training.

At our Stay Play & Learn session at Bonhill we had fun with some sensory water play. We added lemons and limes to encourage the children to explore their senses, develop their fine motor skills, and enjoy a fun, refreshing learning experience

We've been bowled over by the feedback on our first ever Early Years Scotland Awards at the weekend. It really was a day to get together and celebrate the passion and commitment of each and everyone of us who work to give Scotland's children the very best start in life.

At our Learning Together Through Play sessions and family visits in HMP Perth, dads and their families have enjoyed a range of themed sensory activities that promote positive, nurturing interactions.

All the entries for our first ever Early Years Scotland Awards are in, and we're getting excited as the clock ticks down to the big day. Join us at the Raddison Blu Glasgow on Saturday 15 August for an afternoon tea and awards ceremony hosted by top entertainer Edward Reid. Book at bit.ly/eys26book

The babies at our Stay Play and Learn sessions in West Dunbartonshire have been enjoying rolling on their tummies and some sensory play activities. The older children have been playing with toys that promote fine and gross motor skills, construction play and small world play

The families from our Womb to Move and Fit by Five service enjoyed an outing in the Spring sunshine to Pollok Country Park in Glasgow. Getting outside to play supports healthy growth and encourages problem solving, creativity and imagination.

We've started a new block of Little Riders & Striders at the Clydebank Hub in West Dunbartonshire. The children were introduced to the balance bikes, we explored helmet safety, and worked on balancing, braking & control. We then walked to the park for a story and some chalk play.

The children and families from our Rise & Shine service enjoyed a night at Glasgow Science Centre and IMAX cinema. The Community Learning team at the centre invited the families along to help celebrate the wonderful communities throughout the city and the Science Centre itself turning 25 years old.

Huge thanks to the lovely team at our charity partner Hacking and Paterson Management Services who raised almost £300 to support our work with young children and families. The team got well into the Christmas spirit by hosting Festive Fashion Friday across their Glasgow and Edinburgh offices.

The children at our Womb to Move & Fit by Five sessions in Pollok, Glasgow, have been concentrating and developing their sensory system. This is called the vestibular system which gives us our sense of balance and spatial awareness, & helps children coordinate their large and fine motor movements.

Early Years Scotland's Young Children Affected by Parental Imprisonment Programme runs in 6 prisons across the country, supporting prisoners & their children & families through play & learning sessions, family support service, & our family visitor centre at HMP Low Moss 👉https://bit.ly/eysprisons

At our Baby Stay Play and Learn session in Renfrewshire, the children enjoyed making their own playdough—exploring textures through mixing, kneading and shaping. These sensory-rich experiences support creativity, fine motor development and imaginative play.

Huge thanks to Connor from Cycling Scotland for taking our latest Little Riders & Striders session at Bridgeton Community Learning Campus in Glasgow. After our eager cyclists practised their peddling, the families went to find the fairies who live in the woods before we made our nature fairy wands.
