Hey Floridians, It’s my first time voting on state-wide issues in a long time. Can you point me to your best voters’ guides (especially on the amendments), please?

I’m not at basketball fan. I actively avoid it. To say I dislike it is an understatement. But I kept seeing this clip getting shared, so I finally watched it. This is some of the funniest shit I’ve seen in a long time.

This post is unavailable.

When I used to cut tape at Florida Public Radio, one thing I still remember is how fast Adams would say his own name. It was always like one single sound: Noadams. I loved editing his promos & hearing the care he put into every part of every story he told, including affiliate promos. What a giant.

Noah radiated decency; his keen insight informed what became NPR's original sound; his interest in places far from power enriched our understanding of the nation and its people. Lovely tribute from @scottdetrow.bsky.social www.npr.org/2026/10/18/n...

I’ve watched this entire exchange at least four times now, picking up a new favorite moment each time. The latest: “It’s the Constitution, my guy.” What an exemplary example of patient, pro-democracy messaging.

This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

Please indulge me while I post this once more for folks who may be too busy during the week and only peek at Bluesky on the weekend. The NY Times invited me to explain why I think they're failing in their duty to warn the public about the danger of a dictatorship. And they posted the video online.

something I have to try not to think about too often as the parent of a disabled child is the fact that in an active shooter situation she simply would not understand or know what to do or even necessarily follow every direction, and no amount of drilling at school is ever going to change that

All victims in the Oregon school shooting Thursday were shot inside one special needs classroom. A teacher tried to fight away the shooter's gun, helping to prevent more bloodshed before a father took down the shooter, police say. Follow live updates: https://cnn.it/3WvqJdz

As a former employee of the Bird App™️ I can tell you this is a brilliant and well-researched look at a very nuanced issue. Worth every moment you’ll spend digging into it.

@davejorgenson.bsky.social Hi, I was wondering if, as a DJ, you take requests (See what I did there? With your initials, I mean? Like, you’re a DeeJay?). Anywho, I don’t understand how one can commit fraud by not using a thing one has purchased. Can you explain, please? bsky.app/profile/atru...

Assistant AG for Fraud Colin McDonald: "Apparently 35% of people have never even used their Obamacare account for any health services. That is a statistical impossibility and it's because these are not real people seeking real care. These are fraudsters."

For real!! Comedian Micky Overman says it like it is. Generally the only people even entertaining the thought of evil AGI are men. Women are too busy fixing the ACTUAL problems of AI, like idk, the way it automates, reproduces and exacerbates misogyny and makes all our lives worse...

This seems like a pretty sane and measured response.

New: Macklemore says Robert Kraft — who owns Gillette Stadium, where Macklemore & Ed Sheeran were to perform later this month — called Sheeran. Kraft rallied other owners together behind an ultimatum for Sheeran: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you won't be allowed in our venues.

Been thinking a lot lately about Aaron Swartz.

The U.S government backs OpenAI in its lawsuit against the New York Times arguing that training AI on copyrighted data is fair use. I find this fascinating mainly because they believe the opposite if it's Chinese open weight models training on the output of American frontier lab models.

My immediate reaction to this was the absolute glee of seeing the court follow our style guide and capitalize “Tweet”.

👀 Court says it appears that Elon Musk has abandoned the trademark for "tweet" (but not "twitter"). storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us... So tweet freely on other platforms.

Goodgawd, there are so many notable releases out today: • Mastodon • Russian Circles • The Linda Lindas • Prince(!) • Mike D • Ty Segall • Alabama Shakes • Busta and J Dilla(!) • Dinosaur Jr. How am I supposed to get anything done‽

Stephen R. Fox@f6x.bsky.social

Between the new Mastodon and the rest of the Russian Circles record going live (there’s a new song available today!), I predict a very heavy Friday. #\m/ tidal.com/album/524718...
