Open source communities are all about sharing the knowledge except when it comes to organizing events. Then it's $800 per day of attendance and gatekeeping keynotes and videos.

I've relaunched a personal project that I'll never finish and that's never going to make one penny but that's the only thing I want to work on right now.

I've spent the morning building an app by hand, relying on AI solely for architecture and security patterns. Somehow, it feels right. This is the kind of friction I want. Build something slowly, but build something robust.

Also, it's a great reminder why REST feels right sometimes. I've spent the last two years working with GraphQl, and it's such a chore. REST has this simplicity that I love.

With all this AI craziness, we're all busy reviewing code and generating memes, but the only thing I'm eager to see is the day we'll finally be able to talk with whales.

Funny Linux quirk: since I've moved to Fedora, autocomplete works like this for Homebank: - If the app is on screen 1, auto complete window appears on the screen 3 - If the app is on screen 2, everything works fine - If the app is on screen 3, autocomplete doesn't work :D

I just switched from Feishin to Supersonic to read my Navidrome library and so far it's doing such an amazing job. Gapless playback is working flawlessly. I'm so happy!

I'm about to give up on Mina The Hollower. The game is incredible, the art direction amazing and I love the music. But man is it frustrating. The damage/movement mechanics are just punishing to a point it's a chore to start the game.

I'm a long time PopOS user but I've got to admit COSMIC didn't click at all with me. I've been trying out Fedora Workstation for the past two hours and I'm really impressed!

You immediately realize Linkedin is the product of the devil when you notice that they capture your scroll wheel to make you scroll the page slower than you'd like.

I somehow have a hard time believing that a CMS that's 100% written in TypeScript, that has nothing to do with WordPress and that's not compatible with WordPress, can be called a "WordPress successor". This is just another CMS.

I've had mine for the same duration and even without being able to charge at home (rental, not financially interesting for me), it's still so much better than my old gaz-powered car in every way. I usually charge while I'm at the gym so it's transparent, and still cheaper.

It’s now been 6 months since I got an EV and I am still in love with how it drives. But I also thoroughly get a kick of being able to charge fully at home. Truly a shame that one piece of tech we have that can do a net-good, our corporate and political leaders want to bury it.

"Oh, looks like you haven't used that app in the last 2 days. Let's log you out just because and force a tedious login screen with a mandatory 2FA we've chosen for you. And then we'll spend the next 14 screens on a non-skippable onboarding process to show off the enshittification of your app. Yay!"

Nothing beats working on a fresh personal project. Taking the time to do things the right way, pondering about the best approach and architecture, considering new tools. Then you realize you're in for months and months of work, you're tired in the evening and you'd rather play Arc Raiders instead.

Et voilà, le #DevfestToulouse 2025 est fini. De super talks, bcp d'IA, bcp de front, c'était super. Cherchez pas j'ai eu le meilleur goodie chez OpenAirlines avec une team et un produit au top !

Spent the past two days playing with @yaak.app and I'm in love with the simplicity of the app as well as the openness and love for the craft its creator is displaying. Can't way to continue checking it out to see if it'll fit my workflow. Lacks a few feature but so far I'm loving it!

It just boggles my mind how a company like Google can publish code like this and just be like "yea lol it does that sometimes" 🤡 This is not a nuanced question. It's literally what you'd ask a patient to check for brain damage.

Je pensais pas dire ça un jour mais pour avoir eu à utiliser le site internet de Carrefour pour un gros achat, j'ai été très agréablement surpris par leur UI/UX. C'est clair, ça fonctionne bien, il y a des bonnes pratiques.

One of the worst trend in web design has been the two-step login form. I can't figure out for the life of me how is that an improvement over displaying two fields to a user and their password manager.
