Shifting Sands by Silent Sun is a neat RPG roguelike where you're scavenging scraps from the desert to sell/upgrade your equipment. It's got a fresh yet nostalgic feel and buckets of character that reminds me of classic Star Wars x Fallout! Wishlist: store.steampowered.com/app/3986410/...

Another gem I discovered this Next Fest is Verismo by stellanise, which is a horror visual novel/rpg where you play as Vittoria, whose father was murdered in front of her 10 years ago. A decade later, a traumatised Vittoria meets her father's killer again on the night a carnival comes to town.

Happy Saturday! My first Next Fest rec of the day is Magical Girl ER by noranuco! Examine & treat magical girls based on their symptoms. Decide who is admitted & who lives or dies in this horror medical sim that's so catchy, I had to play it twice to see if I could get a different result!

What kind of psycho sizes belts differently from trousers. Got a pair of M size trousers and an M size belt from the SAME STORE, and the belt runs more like an S. Like... these things go together, on the same part of my body, what else did you think I was gonna use the belt for?

Gentle reminder to indie devs that I am one person running Tails by the Foxfire as an unpaid hobby after working 9-5, Mon-Fri (& sometimes overtime) at my day job. My inbox is full of requests & keys. Please don't pressure me with deadlines/check in dates. ..unless it's a paid contract, of course 😁

Hello! I'm looking to speak to: 1. Devs involved in the decompilation scene who can speak to how the community has been affected by AI. 2. Devs who have or suspect they have had their game copied by AI vibe coders. If either of those is you, contact me at rick@ricklane.co.uk. Shares appreciated!

Another day closer to Final Fantasy Resonance 🥰 @square-enix-games.com 's HD-2D has been so magical to engage with & I'm so hyped to track down more characters and see their limit bursts! I'm not big on mobile games, so I missed out on Brave Exvius. I hope we see more rereleases like this!

Final Fantasy Resonance by @square-enix-games.com drops in just 11 days & blends sharp, modern 2D-HD art with contemporary QOL expectations and an authentically classic Final Fantasy feel that reads as both a love letter & an accompaniment to previous titles. Full review below! ⬇️

Seen a lot of discussions lately about how journalists in games media need to shift to being independent to carry on, but the perspective often missing from that is that the ability to do that comes with immense privilege that a lot of disabled and chronically ill writers do not have.
