Got a few copies of both Citadels Duel, Guillaume Montiage and Manu Rozoy's 2 player take on my Citadels, and ハチかミシか, the japanese Winnie the Pooh version of Wriggle Roulette.

Here's my signing schedule for the Essen. If you are a publisher interested in having a look at my prototypes or discussing older games, I still have a few open slots in my schedule, mostly on Sunday. Please message me.

Game publishers, if you want to have a look at my game prototypes or to discuss anything game related with me in Vichy or, more likely, in Essen, just message or email me.

All You Can Eat Buffet, the first game I designed with Théo Rivière, will be available in October in Essen. ======================================== All You Can Eat Buffet, ma première collaboration avec Théo Rivière, sera disponible en octobre, au salon d'Essen.

I finally got this morning my author copies of Friendly Fishing, designed "with" Alex Randolph, which looks really cute. I was expecting the box to be bigger, but it's much better to have this game in the same collection as my Venture Angels and one of my favorite card games, Trinket Trove.

I won't be Indy's Gen Con. It's far away, it's too big, it's expensive, and I've blown my carbon footprint these last few years. Anyway, there will be two and a half new games from me there this year : • Seashells, a light collection game with really cute pieces at KTBG.

• Friendly Fishing, another collection game, this one a reworking of Tonari, which itself was a reworking of Alex Randolph's Veleno, at GameHead. • Citadels Duel, a two player version of Citadels designed by my friends Manu Rozoy and Guillaume Montiage, at Asmodee.

Democrazy is back in Spanish, through GDM games. Jolly Thinkers' bilingual Chinese / English edition, Animocrazy, is also still available.

I'm leaving tomorrow morning for the Cannes "festival des jeux". If you are a publisher curious about my prototypes, or interested in revamping some of my old stuff, or if you are just some interested, in meeting me to discuss any games related matter, please message me.

Moon Colony Bloodbath is about 2000 times more fun than Dominion. The old Magical Athlete was goo, the new one is fantastic. Two very different old style games, two great games. There's a French proverb which says that the best soups are made in old pots.

If you are a new boardgame publisher, or just someone I don’t meet regularly, and are interested in having a look at my prototypes in Cannes, just message me. I scheduled very few appointments so far this year, and still have many free spots.

Livy, History of Rome, book 38.

No single citizen should attain such eminence that he could not be questioned under the laws ; nothing is so essential to equally distributed liberty as that every man, however powerful, should plead his cause.

What now — not to mention supreme position in the state — could be safely entrusted to any man if no accounting could be asked ?

There is some dark irony in the US trying to destroy the EU and, at the same time, telling they want Europe to be more like the US. If there is one domain in which we should copy the US, it's in creating United States of Europe.

I don‘t know if Biden was becoming senile or not, but even if he was, at least he still had enough wits to delegate decisions to the adults in the room. Doesn‘t seem to be the case now.

Even when Trump loses the midterms and is more or less neutralized for the two next years, the harm is done. The rest of the world now knows that the US is no more an ally we can trust.

This forces everyone to regroup, which will probably happen in Europe, and look for other allies, not necessarily nicer but more reliable. Democracy will lose, has already lost.

The game was delayed a bit, its publisher being taken over by another one, but it's now here and I just got my author copies of Fruit Cocktail.

I'm surprised that no one seems to make the parallel between Donald Trump's recent attack on Europe's internet regulation and Britain's opium wars. Of course, we're not at war with the US, so it's far less serious, but the reasoning is the same.

According to Britain, China was to import opium because banning it went against the rules of free trade. Similarly, according to the US, Europe's (very limited) protections against the propagation of fake news and conspiracy theories online goes against free speech.

So Trump is giving up helping democratic Europe fend off Russian encroachment, is giving up helping Japan, Korea and Taiwan limit Chinese influence, and has the US army focus on hitting fishing boats in the Caribbean and marching through US Cities. Is this making America great again ?

I have been WAITING for a journalist to write this story. I specialize in manuscripts produced in England between 1300 and 1500. If this had occurred in the midst of writing my dissertation or first book, it would have exploded my career.

I’ve written a piece on the curious lack of media and political interest in the issues faced by our national @britishlibrary.bsky.social. This is strange given we live in a world where ideas, knowledge and research are a long-term source of innovation and insight www.cityam.com/the-british-...
