According to @spotlightpa.org it appears the PA legislature is on track to pass fewer bills than in any legislative session since at least 1973-74. PA needs new legislative rules & leaders in both chambers ready to serve all PA rather than their own top donors. www.spotlightpa.org/news/2026/10...

Polls consistently show that voters object to closed primaries & think unchecked money in politics & partisan #redistricting are serious problems, undermining trust in elections. That's true across party lines. www.wypr.org/wypr-news/20...

1of3🏛️ @RepJaredSolomon bill to open PA's closed primaries passed 115-88. A similar bill passed #PASenate 48-2 in 2019. But @SenatorPittman plans to tie that bill to another, a practice @PASenateGOP leaders used in 2018 to kill a redistricting reform bill. www.votebeat.org/pennsylvania...
2of3🏛️ The PA Constitution clearly forbids multiple subject bills in ARTICLE III LEGISLATION A § 3. www.palegis.us/statutes/con... There are few rules in the PA Constitution governing legislative process. Among the 1st 3, 2 are regularly ignored.
3of3🏛️ @PAIndependents who support @BallotPA & an end to closed primaries, or any PA voters who object to legislative manipulation that defies the PA Constitution, might consider letting Senator Pittman & other @PASenateGOP leaders hear from you: senatorpittman.com/contact-me/
1of2: For years, PA legislators have introduced bills to end PA's closed primaries. A bill passed PA Senate, 42-8, in 2019, & was then ignored in the House. A 2024 @FandMPoll showed 77% of PA voters would like to see closed primaries end. @Committeeof70 @LWVPA storage.ghost.io/c/6f/65/6f65...
2of2 For years ending closed primaries has been a bipartisan solution that never gets a final @PALegis vote. Now a bill is moving toward the House floor. Is it possible that #PAHouse & #PASenate can find a way to pass it? PA voters are watching. @Ballot_PA thephiladelphiacitizen.org/guest-commen...
PA House and Senate are back in session today after an 11 week recess. It's possible something important could pass in the few session days left. But for most bills, most advocates, most legislators- the odds are very much against it. fairdistrictspa.com/updates/just...
