Disturbing anecdotal reports of "AI psychosis" and negative psychological effects have been emerging in the news. But what actually happens during these lengthy delusional "spirals"? In our preprint, we analyze chat logs from 19 users who experienced severe psychological harm🧵👇

We would live in a different world if the US economy wouldn’t depend on ai hype. Since current ChatGPT in 250 char comparison request (difference between this … and this …) cannot find the one char difference. #ai #llm #us BTW cs and ai world also showed its qualities in general… in this era.

Despite setting my preference to reduced motion the amount of junky animations are incredible. And hiding the view all tabs button in safari is a pure evil move.

GPT 5 is so imbalanced can’t even tell what’s the name of the thing that would allow me to put my moka pot on the fire stove. Feels like talking to a brainless recruiter in general. Cheap tricks and synthetic data is devolution. #openai #chatgpt #ai

this is interesting and balanced research and it confirms my priors so i'm sharing it (h/t @jenvalentino.bsky.social) but also it makes sense — LLMs speed up the typing part, which often feels like the bulk of the job, but is actually dwarfed by the thinking part. and these things don't think good

We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers. The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.

You are up to date.
