Yesterday I was mostly... fighting GarageBand. fBox Console AU loaded but refused to show up. The fix was to change the way it offers its 32 inputs: regrouped into stereo pairs. It might have taken all day to work that out but I would never admit to such a thing.

Porting #plugins from #Windows to #Mac is fine... until you meet window management. Logic and GarageBand run plugins in a separate process on Apple Silicon. Suddenly, keeping a window on top and making the spacebar work becomes a project of its own. All that just to press play. Worth it? Yeah.

It comes with a second program that measures finished files instead of a live signal. Drop a whole album in and read the loudness column top to bottom. It also sums to mono and tells you how much of the mix disappears when it does. Holds up, thins out, or collapses.
