taco, cultist bird/cat :verified420: :neocat_floof_devil:

something something it has been 0 days since taco has installed #linux

Nobara has become my new favorite Linux distro

a released and published project is better than a "finished" project.

He's prepared for anything on his travels. Picture by https://www.furaffinity.net/user/byowt/ #furry #furryart #art #mastoart

what it feels like when one of my posts goes viral on fedi #cats

i integrated a vinyl cache on #FursonaDirectory and beefed up some security on the node. it loads WAY faster now! hopefully this should keep it stable. i also applied the latest image update which i believe contains the php patch we needed?

I knit a little friend for my baby

mastodon 5.0 will have rollback netcode according to an inside source

can't stress enough how much observability can help you identify problems with your stack like nothing else will

i got myself a novation launchkey mini mk4 and it's actually the coolest midi device i've laid hands on

getting put in a pokeball + put into a pokemon center healing thing would probably fix me

i hope you think of me as a furry ricardo montalban mixed in with claudio sanchez

i want to pet a numel

very cool and also weird that i can download approx 500gb of kiwix archives and have most of humanity's collective information available to me at any given moment

i named my magneton "imanes", which will be very funny to all of my spanish knowers out there

REPURPOSING OLD SERVER HARDWARE PROS: cheap as fuck, reliable as fuck because it hasn't died yet and you can find parts for it on ebay 💪 CONS: my 20 year old processor can't run some newer code because it relies on a newer instruction set 🥀

one of these days some engineer is going to be like "out of an abundance of caution we are going to burn all of our servers in a fire"

a voltorb in a pokeball is a kind of matryoshka

#FursonaDirectory fans: i'm keeping an eye on https://github.com/LinkStackOrg/linkstack-docker/issues/170 to see what happens. i depend on the docker image to deploy the latest and greatest to prod

i'm going to take advantage of every other website doing some downtime to do some downtime of my own as a treat we're migrating #BirdcatCafe and #FursonaDirectory to rootless podman compose units for more hardening and security :blobfox:

i've preemptively blocked some php functionality in applications that do not need it in birdcat cafe. we do not have application updates available (i checked) and everyone is probably still just waking up. i'm still keeping an eye out for updates. trust me, i'm as worried as you are

me, a few years ago: yeah i'll just buy a funny domain and set up some services, it will be easy and a fun project me, today:

#BirdcatCafe fans: i fixed up https://paste.birdcat.cafe - it was NOT mounted correctly and was not able to make pastes. it is now able to make pastes. i fucking love containers /s

i think i will live and die by gitops

i went to fright farm last night with @Fanfalla and a friend and had a great spooky time :revblobfoxdarkghostfloof:

#BirdcatCafe news: i'm reitring libremdb. it hasn't been working for nearly half a year now. an upstream issue verifies this behavior isn't from my vps being rate limited or anything, it's just broken upstream. :( it was fun while it lasted... 🥀

bless my wondrous puppy life fuck my stupid puppy life
