10 years ago, I published my first blog post on Analytics Mania. It still feels a bit surreal. It started as a hobby. I was learning GA and GTM for my own work and writing down what I figured out (so that I wouldn't forget it). People started reading. 1/

Then came the questions I couldn't always answer right away. I had to dig deeper and learn a lot more. Apparently, teaching others was the fastest way to teach myself. So, thank you. To everyone who read a post, watched a video, or just followed along. I'm grateful for it.

💥 My new course is officially live: First-party Data Masterclass It is an advanced course built for technical marketers and analysts who want to move past basic setups and actually improve ad performance. The early-bird discount ends June 25th. Here is why I built it: 1/3

Most server-side GTM setups I see fall into the exact same trap. You map a custom domain, extend cookie lifetimes, and think you're done. In reality, your container is just a dumb pipe proxying thin browser data. You're paying hosting costs just to be a basic middleman. 2/3

To fix this, you need Data Enrichment. The course teaches HTTP lookups, SGTM databases (Stape Store), and low-code automation so you can send richer data like profit margins or missing user data. Includes lifetime access and a 30-day guarantee. 3/3

🚨 Google is simplifying GA audience sharing. After June 15, you don’t need Google Signals to see GA audiences in Google Ads. As long as ad_storage is granted and your accounts are linked, you are good to go. Signals is basically just for demographics data now.

Here's the action plan I would like you to do: 1. Read the guide, maybe you'll learn something new 2. Maybe you've spotted one more reason why the event gets missing? Please let me know and I will gladly update the article. Let's expand this troubleshooting guide together 3/4

I did a bunch of experiments trying to figure out when does it get lost and this blog post is the result. Some tests succeeded and others failed. This is NOT "a definitive guide". I think there are still many *unknowns*. But I think it's a good start. 2/4

❌ There will be no Christmas sale. ❌ No "end of year" sale. This is your best chance in 2025 if you've been eyeing the courses for a while. P.S. if you are an existing student of my courses, check your inbox. I sent you another offer a couple of days ago.

I am one of the speakers, and this year's topic of my presentation will be about proactive and reactive ways to increase data accuracy in GA4 You can catch my talk at 10:00 am EST, Oct 8th If you don't want to miss it, sign up for free here 👉 measuresummit.com/from/6/ 2/3

Why did I move the curriculum from GCP to Stape? 👉 It's easier to use 👉 It costs less (but still reliable) The new modules focus less on server administration and more on powerful things you can do right away - like connecting SGTM to your CRM or enriching events. 2/4

Time to bust a myth. We had something similar in Universal Analytics when people believed that if you have any event tracked before page view (in the same session), this will cause “not set” landing page. Simo debunked that a while ago. 1/2

Now, we have a different version of Google Analytics, but the same myth: that if an event (e.g., user_engagement) fires before a pageview in GA4, it will cause the Landing page to be not set Not true. I have run several tests to prove that point. Read: www.analyticsmania.com/post/user-en... 2/2

analyticsmania.comNo, user_engagement before page_view does not cause "not set" landing pageLearn why user_engagement before page_view does not cause a “not set” landing page and how my experiments helped debunk this myth.

🎂 On this day, 5 years ago, I published my first YouTube video I had dreams but never actually expected it to grow that much. Currently at 140k subs Yes, those are rookie numbers compared to largest channels, but in our niche, the result is pretty good :) Thank you for supporting Analytics Mania

TL;DR Currently, the message is too mysterious, and the documentation feels too short. But in the long run, I think this might be a move in a good direction (if Google decides to add more diagnostic tools). At least, in theory. We'll see where this leads to.
