I play video games....that's pretty much it.

I’m so glad I can just enjoy games. There are so many gamers out there mentally crippled worrying about whether a game has a black character in it or something dumb like that somehow preventing their enjoyment of it…things like this never crosses my mind.

-Finished the new Gears, might be the most 'meh' game I've played this year. -12ish hours into the new Fire Emblem, loving it. -2hrs into the new Castlevania, loving it. -6hrs into Galactic Racer, loving it. Reminds me I need to get back to Screamer.

I dunno how I’m feeling about Gears E Day. I’m just not feeling the semi open world thing…So far there’s not much memorable about it. Lots of scuffles on streets, rote side missions, samey environments. The story and pacing suffer for it too.

The further I get it’s like oh they’re throwing three of those at me now plus one of these bigger things…and it comes off more like a chore than some well crafted moment like previous games. The gameplay is still very fun, but this may rank slightly ahead of Judgement and that’s about it.

Enjoying the new Gears game, but the writing is….not good. Like it’s E day they’ve never seen these monsters before and the first downtime they get they reminisce some past story as if this were a WWII comrade building moment. They should be like wtf are these things where did they come from etc.

People turning replies off want to live in a bubble lol. I don’t even disagree with some of this, but the major thing she misses is even if the Dems have both the House and Senate they still can’t actually pass anything with Trump able to veto anything. So what if they are distracted. Impeach!

Finished the new Wolverine game. Overall, I loved it. Had a blast. Story was very compelling. Combat was visceral, felt like an older PS2/3 gen beatemup, my favorite genre that isn't Mario. Only nitpick would be those segments where Logan has to go around inspecting things slowly, but still fine.

I had quite a weekend. Finally finished Batman Arkham Shadows VR. Incredible game. Also finished Bioshock Infinite again, still love it. And finished Cronos the New Dawn. Also an amazing game. I have been truly spoiled with great games lately.

Beast of Reincarnation is sooooo good. It’s not really a souls like, the game is pretty easy, but it’s fun and that’s the point. Love the world they made here and the music, and you have a large dog companion. This was made for me apparently.

Nope...still don't like Halo. Never understood the appeal. Does it have a serious tone with its cartoon enemies? Does it have a silly tone with its very serious protagonist and apocalyptic story? Tone failings aside, guns have no kick, exploration is bland, vast empty, samey rooms, etc...blargh.

Holy poop, Microsoft is awful. Got a new PC, for whatever reason MS won’t recognize it as a device on my account. Nothing works. I wouldn’t care but it seems to prevent Call of Duty from working. My autism requires this to work despite barely caring about this game….

The layoffs that keep hitting the game industry is heartbreaking. The news of ID software taking such a huge hit is insane. They make nothing but amazing games with the best tech in gaming on top of that, and Microslop finds no value in that.

Nothing makes you reflect on your life choices more than sitting by your high end gaming PC, while playing on your Steam Deck which is streaming games from your Steam Machine. Yep....somewhere along the line I made mistakes....

My thoughts on no more physical games is a bit nuanced. I mostly buy physical games, but I’m not married to them. But I’m also not interested in an all digital PS6. I have virtually no PS digital library. I’d be starting from zero. Why buy a $1000+ machine that I have no current library for?

“That’s always the case with a new system anyway” I hear you say. Sure but recently a new system could play older games with better performance. Now I’d literally have to rebuy games digitally to have that benefit. No thanks….I think I’m done with Sony.

Just played through Silent Hill Downpour for the first time. I thought it was pretty good. Not sure why it got so much hate back in the day it was a decent time. Not amazing or anything, but pretty good. They should do a remake of it someday.

The Steam Machine setup was harder than it reasonably should have been. It didn't recognize my Steam Controller which is odd. Hooked up a keyboard/mouse and then got through an update and then it worked. How do you launch a system where its own controller doesn't work? lol. Oh dear....

I will say the death of physical media will escalate the console wars even more. Everyone will have to make a “bet” that their chosen ecosystem will continue. Imagine if Sony doesn’t make enough profits on PS6 and decides gaming is done for them. Goodbye game library. Same for Microsoft.

The news of Sony stopping physical games is sad. But it makes sense. These consoles are basically PCs and PCs haven’t had physical releases for a very long time, somehow we’ve survived. It’s still anti consumer and alienates a lot of people just to save a few bucks.

Well I think the effects of global warming finally hit me directly. Tried to play my PS3 last night and it overheated and shut down which has never happened before. Probably needs a thermal paste redo, but still….

I buy and play way too many video games because I am easy to please. Yet, I couldn’t give a crap about GTA6. I just find them boring. No enemy variety, gunplay is usually sub par, driving is sub par, the characters aren’t likable. Give me Saints Row 2,3, or 4 any day of the week.

I go to a lot of used game stores and it always shocks me to see so many games with water damage. Are people storing their games in a tub of water? Do they go swimming with them? Do they leave them out in the rain? I don't get it....

Finally saw the Mario Galaxy movie. Really enjoyed it overall. Lots of great parts, good nods to gaming, hilarious moments. Maybe my only complaint is there was too much action and not enough bits between characters. But I’m sure kids loved it. The Rob the Robot scene was my favorite.

The new god of war game looks weeeeird. But the combat is right up my alley. Looks fun at a minimum so I’m in. They didn’t put a date on it so 2028 at the earliest. Otherwise they would have said 2027.

I'm skipping this new Yoshi game it's just not for me. That's perfectly ok, I'm just sad because I like the Yoshi games and I didn't get one this time lol. But for kids, and puzzle fans I'm sure you're happy.

Just finished season 2 of Devil May Cry. Really gets good in the second half. Overall enjoyed it. My only real gripe is Vergil is not quite right. His lust for power is there, but he's not as conniving as he should be. He lets things happen too much when he should be pulling the strings.

Well at long last The Boys is finally over. I'd say the last two eps wrapped things up nicely. Different from the comics but who cares, they did their own thing it worked for the show. Very inconsistent series overall though. Season 1 and 5 were probably the best imo.

With 1 more episode left of The Boys I’ll say it’s been a good last season so far, but some complaints I have is Starlight has been so useless the entire show. She got her first ever kill I think last ep? Their big plan feels aimless, with 1 ep left to flesh it out I have doubts.

Spent the last 3 nights playing Mario Golf 64z I have no idea why, but it was a great time. Also made way more progress than I did as a kid. The CPU absolutely cheats lol. Nothing a little save scumming can’t combat though. Still challenging as the save scumming isn’t fool proof.

I played through High On Life 1 and 2 in the last 2 weeks and they were both great. The second one needs some polish though as the game kept crashing. Luckily it has a very active checkpoint system so it didn’t matter too much, but I haven’t had games crash on me that much recently.
