I spent my childhood being hissed into silence by the (alleged) adult caregiver in my life any time we were in a waiting room, lest I annoy the other people in the room. I was told it was rude to talk at normal volume. Just sit quietly and wait, you should have brought a book.

So wtf is it with people in her age group having full-volume conversations with each other, taking phone calls - again at full volume - and listening to audio on their devices in waiting rooms? Did the rest of her generation miss the memo, or is this some "children are better seen than heard" BS?

Due to health concerns, we have had to train all of our cats on bowls that read their RFID chips. The Voids, whom we adopted at the same time (but are from different litters), are currently trying to repeat their accustomed dance of trading food bowls partway through grazing. This is not working.

They are pErPlExEd. Sorry, babies. You each have plenty of food, but one of your food is likely poisoning the other, so you can't share bowls anymore. You'll have to settle for bitchslapping each other and tear assing around the house like normal siblings.

Every piece of plastic you wear and/or wash is constantly shedding microplastics, which in turn cause a MUCH greater problem for the animals you care about than periodic shearing. ...periodic shearing that actually benefits the animals in question, mind you. [2/3]

Helium balloons are such a weird, archaic thing to me. Sure, let's use a limited and rapidly running out resource to temporarily inflate an object humans are known to be irresponsible with in terms of ecosystem protection. Sounds fun and worthwhile.

#knittinghottake While I don't think pattern designers are necessary anymore in most cases, if you give a bad rating because of a skill issue, we have a problem. Patterns are not educational. If the pattern calls for a twisted German cast on, it doesn't have to explain how to do it.

I made a TikTok account today! Which I will probably never use! But if you found me over there and that's how you found me here, hi, it's the same person, and I am terribad at social media. I'm better at making shinies.

For today's horror show, I give you: Some small business owner's idea for labeling yarn. AKA, packing tape, *directly on the single ply*. Why would anyone treat yarn this way. Get a goddamn rubber band. Or - here's a thought - THE YARN IS MADE OF STRING.

Pattern author: Add 1 st per Front so you'll have added a total of 26 new st by the time you reach the end of Chart A Also pattern author: Doesn't note this anywhere in the chart Me: Spends many hours and lots of RSI* finishing Chart A and only JUST notices this omission * Repeated Stress Injury
