4/ Regarding the necessary climate information: it is not enough to look at the restoration area alone. A wider area must be analysed to understand how hydrological conditions will change. And when asked what to avoid when restoring a wetland, the answer was clear ⬇️

2/ Our president, Jaime Ribalaygua, took part in the panel discussion during Session II on wetland restoration: challenges, needs and #opportunities, alongside representatives from @luke.fi , #UnivAveiro, the Estonian Fund for Nature (#ELFond) and @ribesresearch.bsky.social from #Radboud_Uni. ⬇️

3/ Jaime emphasised that wetland restoration must be planned with a long-term perspective, citing the use of species distribution models to assess their viability under #future climate scenarios as an example. He gave examples of previous FIC as #Forestecco project.
