FINDING DEE is the semi-autobiographical look at the ins and outs of coming out as a middle-aged, transgender cartoonist just trying to make it in comics, find a little success, and a safe place to PEE! findingdee.com

Dandy may not be able to directly talk to the “camera” in this comic, but he still knows he’s IN a comic strip, so he keeps it up. Lol That all said, here comes the intro of a character I utterly ADORE drawing: K’Blam!

I don't normally do this many parody/homage strips in a row, but this idea occurred to me, and I HAD to draw it next in the queue. And I'll admit, that when I put up the poll asking WHICH Daredevil artists that I should homage, I had ALWAYS intended to make each panel a different pairing. lol

As a kid born in the 70s, I grew up with a wealth of animated specials based on comic strips. For a while, it seemed like every strip was getting one. I have always imagined what it would be like. This TV GUIDE parody ad is likely the closest I'll ever get, but it was a LOT of fun to make.

Dandy isn't all that accustomed to folks being able to see through his BS quite so easily. Or, in Elspeth's case, so magically specific. Also, while he can't SEE the 4th wall anymore, he still KNOWS he's in a comic and can make the appropriate pop-culture references as needed.

Does this mean I think I'd SURVIVE a Ghostface attack? Ooooh, no. I'm clumsier than most Ghostfaces... which is impressive in and of itself... AND they'd probably kill me HARDER because I wouldn't answer the phone and annoy them. lol

In celebration of today's premiere of #CRYSTALLAKE, I tweaked a gag I did a few years ago when there was a #Fridaythe13th in October. I'm really looking forward to watching the new show when I get home from work later tonight! Ki Ki Ki, Ma Ma Ma!

If you were reading our work on Giant Girl Adventures, you are already familiar with the overbearing, haughty, & judgmental Paladin of Vanu, Britomart. She's BACK, with her daughter in tow. Elspeth will be sticking around. Britomart, not so often. That armor takes FOREVER to draw! lol

Book 4 of the Havenwolf Chronicles, THE EYES OF LUNA, is available now, along with the other 3 novels. Read all of the stories of Claire Gribbald's journey into a supernatural world of werewolves, vampires, witches, and more in paperback, hardcover, or on Kindle today at havenwolfchronicles.com

So, there's this thing going around where it's folks making graphics of 9 Movies or 9 Albums that "made" them. I've done them for fun, but there's no similar thingy for comics. (Books OR strips. MANGA, of course) Are these my TOP 9? Not automatically. My favorite ANYTHING changes with the wind. lol

Early on, Sabrina and I developed a formula for breaking up longer Adventures in Dungeoneering stories with single-panel gags. They showcase off-screen antics, new creatures, and side characters.

It is never mentioned in the strip, but Heidi has VERY bad knees and walks with a cane, often needing to use these scooter carts when we go shopping. And yes... she has blindly run over my feet on MANY occasions.

So, this AID strip is kinda funny to me, as we wrote and drew this MONTHS ago, well before I worked up the 6-part series of Finding Dee strips that sets THIS up to explain how Dandy got unceremoniously dumped in this new comic. Sorry Dandy. No rescue is coming. Get used to pants, buddy. ;)

I have a question. Let's just say that I'm planning a DAREDEVIL Homage for an upcoming Finding Dee strip. Which classic Daredevil artists should I pattern the art after? A: Frank Miller & Klaus Janson B: Gene Colan & Tom Palmer C: Joe Quesada & Jimmy Palmiotti D: John Romita Jr. & Al Williamson

And with THIS strip, we finish out this crossover lead-in to Adventures in Dungeoneering! I hope you’re enjoying the NEW comic, and Finding Dee will be returning to "normal" next week. Thanks for indulging me with this fun little birthday celebration for Dandy Q. Dog. :)

In truth, we PROBABLY could have squeezed right into Dandy's first strip over in Adventures in Dungeoneering after the last strip, but I wanted to end this little mini-story arc a little differently. FYI, Finding Dee will be back to "normal" next week. Or, for $3 backers on Patreon... right now.

Finished the cover to the SIXTH novel in the Havenwolf Chronicles: Children of the Silver Circle. This might be my new favorite of the covers I've painted for this series. Hope you all like it. 🧡🐺 (Also, BOB ROSS TREES FTW!)

Let me preface this by saying that a LOT of running stories in comics are built up on a small handful of repeating core ideas. THIS comic is no different. "Dee has creative block.", "Dee is anxious about using public restrooms.", "Look, it's something about boobs.", etc.

As with ALL of the covers I've painted for my novel series, the Havenwolf Chronicles, this will undoubtedly get some digital tweaking once I scan it in. But for now, here's the cover for the next book in Claire's story: The KEEPERS of the BLOOD! (Coming in 2027)

If you're in Franklin, Pa for Applefest®, be sure to come to Porch Music Store! I'll be here with comics, , novels, and more AND I'll be painting the cover to the next novel in the Havenwolf Chronicles LIVE! HOPE TO SEE YOU HERE!!

If you're in the Franklin area on Saturday, October 3rd, for Applefest, be sure to stop by Porch Music Store, where I'll have all 4 Havenwolf novels! & will be painting the cover to book 5! If you can't make it, you can order copies in softcover, hardcover, or for Kindle at havenwolfchronicles.com

Wow! 76 years ago, Charles M. Schulz's PEANUTS premiered in newspapers and changed the game in so many ways! It was, and remains, one of my own primary influences and guiding stars, and I love it more every year!

I'm not saying that I may have ALREADY bought a new Charlie Brown Christmas tree ornament... but... uh... yeah. I have already bought a new Charlie Brown Christmas tree ornament. lol
