A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

Wildwood was incredible, Laika is so back animation is the closest thing to real actual magic we've ever done

And so was my wife, so I made Yeto's Superb Soup from Twilight Princess at her request. Kabocha pumpkin with salmon and goat cheese it's very good stuff folks.

In the mood for soup

I try not to be like "Oh (place) has bad drivers" because mostly people do tend to drive pretty similarly all over but this weekend has instilled in me a sincere belief that Chicago drivers are just the worst

Mike Rogers refuses to talk about gas, groceries, seeing a doctor, or our broken infrastructure. Mike Rogers only wants to talk about old culture wars fought by small people with smaller ideas and no solutions to our actual problems.

Got milk at Costco this morning and saw a $600 Sonic the Hedgehog arcade machine what are we doing here man. PS5 money on a cab that doesn't even have Sonic 3&K on it

Listen it's all very simple. Saying Jews as an ethnic group are united in a secret conspiracy to rule the world and creating a song explicitly glorifying Hitler is what we in the music industry call a "mistake". Nothing like the inexcusable antisemitism of being opposed to genocide.

Supposed "budget concerns" when it's time to drop another few hundred million dollars on a live service game you'll shut down within 6 months

This week, PlayStation announced that it had pulled out of publishing Hideo Kojima's next game, Physint. But the company didn't give a reason. So I made some calls. Here's why PlayStation bailed and why Xbox snapped Kojima right up: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

There is just no path forward for video games. Consoles will cost $1000+ and have no games that you won't own. Personal computing is dead, there's just nothing left, you can only go back and play old games and the occasional indie title.

Right. Like, MAHA isn’t a push for equitable access to care. It’s eugenics under the guise of “healthy living.” There’s plenty of somewhat normalizing woo and almond mom and ~natural~ in the mix, but that’s just noise. The signal is the strongest survive, and no regard for the lessers who don’t.

Michael Hobbes@michaelhobbes.bsky.social

Second, MAHA isn’t all that concerned with treatment of disease anyway. Its core claim is that nearly all diseases can be prevented through virtuous lifestyles. If we were all drinking raw milk and taking zinc supplements, we wouldn’t be coming down with heart disease and depression and COVID.

250K homes and businesses are still without power after yesterday’s storms. Michigan has the slowest power restoration after storms in the nation, yet we have the highest energy bills in the Midwest. Why? Utilities like DTE are ripping us off.

Got a Tom Barrett TV ad and the only thing they mention is that he'll "stop sex changes for children" these people have nothing but their rancid culture war, they're pathetic

Protesting an oil company that poisoned your home for profit? Unforgivable sin for Republican voters, who famously would never even think of supporting someone with a criminal record.

Agitators tried to disrupt genuine conversations with voters on Monday. Tom Barrett refuses to face voters and has sold us out to Big Tech. My career and campaign are built on standing up to corporate power. It’s what I did in 2013 and what I'll do in Congress.

Last night I made Jamaican brown stew chicken with rice and peas for dinner. I went light on the pepper for the sake of my wife but I can really tell it's asking for heat so next time I'll see how much I can dial up the spice. Pretty great taste though.

Would really like to see the flowchart on whether or not you accuse people inconveniencing you of being either trans or Muslim because that's really all they got these days

Crazy that you don't hear about all the miraculous wonder drug benefits to smoking weed now that it's legal so many places. Wonder what that's about

"Tinned fish" as a rebrand is as frustrating as it is curious. Taking a product which has been broadly understood to be cheap, low class and undesirable and transforming it into a luxury snack food purely by twee millennial package design and adding a Britishism, subbing 'canned' for 'tinned'.

Is that really all it takes? Recession indicator? Sign of the times? Who knows. I will personally resist and keep calling them canned sardines.

Cast my vote for sinister arab communist Abdul El-Sayed today in the primary. The seat of the American caliphate will be Dearborn.

Very fun movie that I quite enjoyed but it is BRUTALLY uninterested in anything having to do with the Homeric epics beyond the surface level plot beats. The movie ends with Tom Holland in maybe the dumbest costume I've ever seen on film.

I've been in the Upper Peninsula for 2 days and have seen more Finnish flags than at any point in my life they're really about it here

It is crazy how much of a scam "ceramic nonstick" pans are. Sold as more eco-friendly alternatives to PTFE pans and yet because they're WAY less durable than teflon you end up having to throw them out in what feels like half the time it takes a teflon pan to degrade.

Yes they are both ultimately disposable, but at least with a PTFE pan it's actually nonstick and you'll definitely get a longer life out of it.

This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days. ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.
