"It would be a shame if something happened to your cute little sports organization."

The New York Times@nytimes.com

From @theathleticfc.bsky.social: President Trump has offered his support to the embattled Gianni Infantino by saying it would be a “terrible mistake” if he is removed as FIFA president.

It's actually not hard to imagine, just not the way this clown thinks. Capture and arrest Maduro. Charge him with crimes that will keep him in prison forever if not lead to his execution. Promise leniency if he testifies to his role in 2020. Not hard to imagine at all. Indeed, I expect it.

The most disconcerting aspect of the day's events is the pliancy of the military "leadership." That no one said "Sir we cannot execute this plan without notifying Congress" and didn't resign when it didn't happen is deeply disturbing. Good little Germans. Don't be counting on them to save us.

This is EXACTLY right

The relentlessly opportunistic Marjorie Taylor Greene hasn't had a change of heart, much less politics. She is just literate enough to read the writing on the wall. She knows that Trump is damaged goods now. So she may have taken to singing like a bird, but she's really just a canary in a coal mine.

I've had the same thought

Did anyone spot moving vans outside the White House recently that could have been used to remove precious, historic furniture, mantel pieces, fixtures, chandeliers, lamps, and portraits from the East Wing to safety?

I've thought this since the day Cadet Bonespurs was re-elected. It's why they're so brazen about their criminality: they presume they'll be in power forever and, if they're not, they'll burn it all down on their way out the door. Yet another parallel to the Nazis.

Whatever else you think of him, I don't think he is insincere about this stuff, and it should be recognized as extraordinary that he, Pritzker, and other governors are talking about the federal government in these terms. It's not normal political rhetoric, it's the language of existential emergency.

Yet another reason to hate the Yankees

John Pfaff@johnpfaff.bsky.social

The night after the murder of Melissa Hortman, the Democratic legislator in Minnesota, the Yankees were at the Red Sox and neither team requested a moment of silence. For an actual public servant. Who we choose to hold a moment of silence for and who we do not are silences that speak volumes.

Karma is a bitch

Both of the co-founders of Turning Point USA died from things that were preventable, but which they mocked and urged this nation to ignore. Bill Montgomery was killed in 2020 by COVID and Charlie Kirk was killed in 2025 by gun violence.

American citizens cannot be deported. One cannot be deported from one's own country. Let's start using the correct verb. Kidnapped. Disappeared. Exiled. Forcibly removed. Illegally imprisoned. All of the above.

Good Point

It is absolutely right that we do not need Greenland (or Canada) for natsec reasons because they are already close NATO allies. So the only rationale to turn the US into an aggressor in our own hemisphere is if you don’t plan on NATO being a US alliance in the future.

The crazy thing about the Greenland bullshit is that Trump and his crime family are either ignorant of or don't want us to know that Greenland is a part of NATO. Were the Chinese or Russians to move against it they would get the same response we will provoke if we moved against it.
