He didn’t sleep because it was a risk, but he could play football. Siriani is an awful, awful person.

Ian Rapoport@rapsheet.bsky.social

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season after several blood clots were revealed in his lungs. Before the London game, Hurts was in the hospital until 4 am and did not sleep because sleep was a risk. He played the game without having slept. Crazy.

THERE IS TOO MUCH GOING ON RIGHT NOW. All that seems clear is that Maryland Women's College Basketball has saved the Republic.

But I need to know the sanctions that will be cruelly ripped away when they win their appeal because the process took too long.

New York is having some kind of existential transplant crisis? lol I'm from a region where people refuse to believe anyone is actually from here! (But they blame us for all of the problems they send to us.)

Gremliny Nussboo@emilynussbaum.bsky.social

I truly don’t understand this “transplant” nonsense. The whole THING about NYC is that ppl come here from other places to mutate into New Yorkers! TO SEE IF THEY CAN BE KING OF THE HILL, TOP OF THE HEAP! Imho a rando who moved here a year ago is the MOST NY person. Welcome Ohio rando, have a bagel

I can’t with this ranking, even beyond the obvious. Wilson and Jackson are great? Andrew Johnson and Hoover are an average? Grant is worst?

this is so incredible I can’t stop laughing because he forgot to include Reagan

I talked to the officers. They said they were deputized by the US Marshals and went through an orientation yesterday. They’re here for 30 days as part of the America 250 celebrations.

At first glance, I thought this was a map to the secret chambers inside the Washington Monument, as created by the Illuminati/Masons.

Back to being Morris Day and the Mother F#*king Time.

Morris Day and The Time responds: "Contrary to rumor, Morris Day & The Time will not be performing at the 'Great American State Fair.'"

Very strange. There is currently only an acting Secretary of the Navy and Vance spoke last year, but I can't see why Trump wouldn't address USNA. They won't give him a negative reception. I guess that's less traffic Friday on 50 at least.

So they force out employees who are experts at running our arcane Federal Financial Aid system and now they are going to hire a bunch of people who likely have no knowledge let alone expertise of it at a time when they need ramp up RAP and transfer millions of people off of SAVE. Brilliant!

They used a reliever as a starter and two starters in relief. They acquired the trio via waivers, free agency and the 12th round of the MLB draft. They have used 20 arms so far. It’s April 19. Welcome new era Nats, one shutout in: www.nytimes.com/athletic/721...

When I was a kid they sold knitting patterns by showing little girls with knight's helmets stabbing boys in the head with a dagger. Awesome. I never wanted to knit a sweater more than right now.

That's a whole lot of nonsense. I don't know if WMATA could even do that based on how it charges. I don't ever recall Metrorail or bus being an extra fare to get to a specific station during a specific time period (just the whole system being free on certain dates).

The New York Times@nytimes.com

From @theathleticfc.bsky.social: New Jersey Transit is currently planning to charge more than $100 for return rail tickets from Penn Station to MetLife Stadium for FIFA World Cup games. The 18-mile rail journey ordinarily costs $12.90 for a return ticket. nyti.ms/4tRnBV8

And to Catholics, who have sat through a lifetime of sermons about why bad things happen to good people and camels passing through eyes of needles, prosperity theology is mind blowing.

derek guy@dieworkwear.bsky.social

I suspect the Pope sounds "woke" to many Christian conservatives because the US is steeped in prosperity theology, where the point of worship is to deliver health and wealth to believers. Thus, "feed the hungry" and "show mercy for the poor" sounds needlessly political and "woke."

Innocent! The red panda, that is.

The hungry red panda at the Prospect Park Zoo? Adorable. The HungryPanda delivery app scamming small businesses? Not adorable. So they will be paying $580,000 back. We'll keep pursuing companies that take advantage of New Yorkers, and we'll keep asking if we can pet a red panda just for a second.

I am really confused. Why is anyone searching American Airlines (or any airline) for a flight between Philadelphia and Wilmington, DE? It's a 20 minute drive. You can get there for less than $10 on public transportation, or if you want to splurge, you can take Amtrak or an Uber.

Tero Kuittinen@teroterotero.bsky.social

American Airlines is charging $1000 per bus ticket to deter people from just taking a bus because the bus is meant to be an airplane replacement and not a bus. They want to trick you into thinking it’s a land airplane and not a bus. This is America.

No. Some things don't change. The Yankees aren't less hateable. The Cowboys aren't less hateable. Manchester United isn't less hateable. The people will always hate Duke.

I love Michael Fassbender, but can't they just repackage "The Kennedys of Massachusetts"? Probably still watch it for the accents.

Vulture@vulture.com

If the end of ‘Love Story’ has you craving more Kennedys, Netflix has you covered. Michael Fassbender stars in ‘Kennedy’ as Joe Kennedy Sr. It’s ‘The Crown,’ American style.
