Made me really happy that Gianna LaMorte, our intrepid marketing master at @utexaspress.bsky.social, agreed to do this piece for @texashighways.bsky.social. There's love here for stores across TX, built out from her insane quest last year to visit 75 stores in 75 days to mark our 75th anniversary.
Let's do it anyway and see what happens.
Most billionaire wealth isn't in yachts or jewelry — that's just a few percent of it. Most is productive business capital: companies that employ people, build things, and fund research. Tax that wealth and you're taxing the businesses that employ us all. Cato's Adam Michel explains.

Two words. BETTE. DAVIS.
“many of his former DOGE foot soldiers have leveraged their government stints to fuel private-sector ambitions: building companies that tap government largesse or that deploy knowledge they garnered during their brief tenures in Washington.” It’s the accountability, stupid. cc: Democrats

As I said earlier, I recommend people read Cristina Beltran's Cruelty as Citizenship. www.upress.umn.edu/978151791192... This is how white democracy is made and maintained, cruel, unrepentant violence.
Warrantless stops and violent roving patrols by masked federal agents across California, especially the Central Valley, have been terrorizing farm workers for the past 5 days. The chaos is escalating. full statement: www.dailykos.com/stories/2026...
I support my representative!
I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

“They want us to be afraid. They want us to censor ourselves before they even have a chance to do it. We will not do that. We will confidently put resistance politics out there into the world to go along with the movements of people who are actively trying to fight against these systems.”

It's disgusting watching people buying into the "Tucker Carlson is making sense?!" bullshit and it's probably time to wrap our heads around the fact that the people susceptible to this are unconsciously fascist curious and just need the ugly delivered to them in an "acceptable" package

Next week, Google is putting an experimental satellite into orbit that is the first step towards building A.I. data centers in space. This technology is all still very speculative, but tech leaders are increasingly adamant that this is the future of compute. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/24/t...

This is so much bullshit. I remember the right screaming that 9/11 was the fault of the gays and the feminists. It was a bloodthirsty post 9/11 culture.
But that feeling of a shared bond among all Americans in the early weeks after the attack is something I’m so glad I got to experience. Because it’s the thing that I think we’re missing the most today.
