It’s hard to understand what the next phase of my career should look like when the big trends out there are austerity and ‘AI’ hype. What is the equivalent, for a UNIX-at-scale nerd, to shorting nVidia? Can I profitably teach organizations how to recover from their encounters with “AI” footguns?

I have no credentials in organizational psychology, but given my industry’s attitude towards credentials, I’m more worried about knowing what I need to know, than about having a piece of paper to prove it. I wonder if I still have the attention span to inhale a stack of books like I used to.
