Just so we're clear, I am not cool with how things have played out. We're starting 4 years (minimum) of the worst that the worst can do to us. I'm not overly vocal on things, but if you (straight, gay, trans, black, white, etc) are cool with me, I'm cool with you. Always have been, always will be.

I'm trying to not be a grumpy older gamer, but seeing folks talk shit about MS and Sony and then suck up to Nintendo over a bunch of played out product lines when they've been just as crappy of a console company is actually somewhat hilarious in a "really?" kind of way.

1mm is possibly still too thin, at least on the sides, but I think before I go to 2mm I'll get the layer lines and seams of the print cleaned up. Will need to test the best way to do this on the failed prints.

I did a test pull with 0.5 mm PETG and it was too thin (as expected), but it also showed that the form wasn't pulling down far enough. I drilled ~1/16" through holes all around the perimeter and tried again with 1mm PETG, and the results were more than adequate.

I've got a fever, & the only prescription... is more classic car projects. Wait, is that one of the symptoms?! Picked up a Mk1 Austin Healey "Bugeye" Sprite for a steal. It was abandoned in a storage unit, & the dude who claimed the unit sold it to me for ... $800. #bugeyesprite #austinhealey

We don't know the model year, & it's missing the VIN tag, so we'll have to do a little research, but my friend & I are scheming to put the Ecotec inline 4 cylinder & 5 speed transmission that was originally slated for the Morgan +4 into this little guy & just have some fun with it.

Throttle cable assembly is installed and routed on the #Volvo #P1800, gotta finish installing the new exhaust system, a few other odds and ends to be sorted, and should be in position to get it fired up.

Further progress on the #fallout anti-material rifle from @galacticarmory.net ; first shot is what's currently glued together on the aluminum rods, second is with everything else taped in place. Looking forward to trying a method for woodgrain that I found, still trying to find a good metal paint.

To go along with the NCR Ranger helmet & backpack, also working on the anti-material rifle from @galacticarmory.net . Using 1/4" aluminum rod for the main body, 1/2" aluminum pipe for the barrel to reinforce it. It's not quite Red Hood rifle big, but it's still a big gun nonetheless. #props #cosplay

Progress on the #NCR Ranger helmet and backpack from @galacticarmory.net . Thinking I may try a bit of customization and give the helmet actual desert camo colors, need to find the right shade for it. The face part would likely still be weathered metal though. #3dprint #cosplay

Progress on the #volvo #P1800, rebuilt SU carbs are installed, as well as the new intake and exhaust manifolds. Changed out the mechanical throttle linkage for a cable drive. Need to install the rest of the new exhaust system and keep moving forward

Had a lucky break (ha!) while working on the #Volvo #P1800. After getting the intake and exhaust off, bumped against the oil pressure sender hose (black tube hanging) & it snapped clean off. Luckily this happened now & not on the road, or that would've been potentially catastrophic engine failure.

Printed @sksprops.bsky.social samurai demon mask on my X1C after seeing his YouTube short about it. Sent it to the printer at night & it was ready in the morning. I'll put a few coats of filler primer on, do a quick sand, then pick through some of the paints I've got to give it a look.

The #Volvo #P1800 is back in the garage after some time being stowed away outside. Got someone working on rebuilding the original carbs, and going to start swapping in the new parts I've picked up. Hoping in a month or two it'll be running so I can get the brakes and suspension checked out.

Sadly, ShiftUp doesn't have a #Nikke presence on Bluesky (& still insists on using Twitter for contests & social media). That's not going to stop me from saying on here - HOLY F*CK, ShiftUp, why are your writers so cruel while so good?! The #GoddessFall event story was amazing & heart wrenching!

My entry for @galacticarmory.net Trench Crusade contest. Didn't win, but with ~200 entries & some seriously stiff competition (& life throwing a number of issues up while underway), getting into the top ~1/4 - 1/5 of the results by votes is big effing win in my book. Hope more contests will happen!

That was a lot of fun! Had a friend & his family come over & went along with them through my neighborhood. There were a lot of trick or treaters this year. Had kids saying how cool the get-up looked & adults wanting to take photos of the setup and asking how I made it. #Halloween

Huge thank you to @foamsmith.com , Adam Savage was right in saying "when you need to look up how to do something, usually the first thing I come across is a video Bill's made of how to do it." Having enjoyed their vids for years, it's so awesome to be making stuff with all that shared knowledge!

I miss playing @guildwars2.com , haven't played in probably 2 years, mainly cause life has strained me so much that I wouldn't be able to sit back & enjoy it. I still have to finish the post-End of Dragons content, but I am so buying the new expansion so it's ready for me when I'm ready for it.

Feeling better about this project now that I've got it looking like this. Next up will be clear coating, glueing on the cross, and then it's time to sort out the rust and grunge. #trenchpilgrim #trenchcrusade #3dprint #galacticarmory
