I'll just say this, the two Pokémon that turned me from a hater to a lover were Lucario and Victini. Victini because I love their look, Lucario because I watched the film and felt so bad for him. Both were before I turned 18 so don't be weird about it.

TBH I think a lot of the Wafrn jank is more from the UI than anything? The only "serverside" jank if you can even call it that is that it doesn't do link embed renders on the Bluesky side.

I think I keep going on and off about whether I should use Wafrn or Bluesky but I think Wafrn wins from its ability to have longer posts, and its interoperability between ATProto (well, Bluesky) and ActivityPub. I can see more home-grown projects springing up combining the two that'l[...]

yeah that Jaiden vid was very good. She was worried about people judging her for making the vid but honestly, she came about the subject in an empathetic way while still explaining the benefits of her lifestyle choice. And she wasn't trying to be preachy about it.

Though it's a strong reminder of (partly) why I left Linux and why I don't really get along with the fediverse anymore. The toxic ideological purity has hurt veganism, and it's hurting free and open-source software in the same way.

I know that's ironic when I said "preach" but you get the idea.

Watching Jaiden Animations' video on how she went vegetarian (or, at the timestamp I'm on, vegan) and there's a bit where she highlights "the community spreading their own unhealthy brainworms" god I feel seen and I'm not even in that space. Well, the difference between Ukraine and Israel is that Ukraine hasn't brought the contest to disrepute. They played fair, they're not trying to astroturf votes (not even in 2022) and their support has always been natural. To compare the two at all, whatever side you're on, is apples to oranges.

somehow convinced my Linux using friend (who's actually leaving Linux because of the multitude of problems he had but shhhhhh) to use MusicBee in WINE lmao. He likes it but there are issues he's having because WINE :tm: There is a massive gaping hole where a MusicBee-like should be i[...]

I *know* I toot my doot about that all the time but music is a big part of my life, and MusicBee is simply a really good tool to manage it. There is simply nothing like it on Mac or Linux, and I am very, very tempted to try and make that - even if I need any sort of LLM assistance.
