Exciting day for western Canadian #avgeeks. Initial flight from YYC to AUH. Etihad flt 29 arrived a tiny bit late around 07:40 MDT. Will return as EY30 at 13:00. Etihad put on a lovely spread at the departure gate including gahwa and fresh figs. Warm western Cdn welcome to our friends at Etihad.

I know my BSK friends in Eur/UK and points further south are still enjoying late summerish weather. Here in this part of N. Am. autumn is well underway. For me it's a sweet spot, summery daytime warmth still, but beautiful fall scenery around and crisp nighttime air. #autumn #nature #Canada

Well, I guess it's slow-cook Sunday, so here's what I'm up to. A basic spag-bol. Fresh ingredients of course! Loving seeing everyone else's tasty dishes, thank you BlueSky-ers. #SlowCookSunday

Pretty in pink, but a disappearing brand. This will soon be repainted into WestJet mainline colours. Fortunately, WS has finished interior retrofits across the entire Swoop and Sunwing acquisitions.

Missed my connection flight at LAX last night, had to overnight and catch the 6am flt this morning. Went to the hotel's shop to get something grab'n'go. What you see is two yogurt parfaits with two protein bars. $46.00 USD. Utterly gobsmacked.

The old worhorse taking me to London from Vancouver. G-VIIP. This is how a 27 year old 777-200 looks. Apparently, the old original seating, not yet gone through cabin refurbishment. #avgeeks

And incredible orangey Sunrise sneaking up behind CYYC. Waited two hours in the aircraft for a fix to an electronics issue, missed my cnx flight at YVR 🤨 #Calgary #sunrise

A lovely last walk early this morning in Rome. Sun rising over Castel Sant'Angelo. Trains canceled between Roma Termini and Fiumicino, so a last minute panic to get one of the fewer and fewer taxis as the mobs realize there's no more apt train service.

Ongoing Roman adventure. Close ups of Trajan's column, where Trajan detailed 2000 years agowhat wonderful achievements he made in the Roman world. The third pic shows the exact spot (lone tree left of center) where Julius Caesar was done in on the Ides of March. Last is losing my Aperol virginity.

So wonderful to finally meet @ip2guy.bsky.social in person!! I have to say, our Terry knows the BEST coffee/cake places here in London, had a lovely visit and enjoyed a beautiful english scone/cream/jam. Hoping we can visit again soon Terry, 💋 #blueskymeets #meeting

Completed Section 9 of Lindon's Capital Ring today. Incredible variety along the way, Harrow's hill was a pleasant surprise, saw Churchills boy hood school. So impressed with the Ring's signage, hard to get lost despite passage through hidden forested paths. #London #walking

Cacti blooms are almost always spectacular. This is my Peruvian apple cactus. The blooms fade and leave a small pod that grows into an edible fruit, euphemistically called an "apple". #Flowers #cactus #desert #botany

The before, the after. My annual big batch of chili. One meal 2nite, 14 more in the freezer. Total cost of ingreds was CAD67$, so $4.46 per meal (for 2). Highly nutritious, healthy, no sugar added, high in fiber. Could have saved $17 buying cheap meat but splurged on higher end veggie beef.

Beautiful warm #autumn day along the rivers of #Calgary. The first is the termination of the Elbow River. The second is along the Bow. The last is one of those amazing places where two rivers meet, the confluence of the Elbow and Bow, where Fort Calgary was built in 1875 - Calgary's first bldg
