girls are getting into abstract analysis

Its extremely dangerous cognitive offloading to use ai but its totally fine to get all your information about the world from randos on social media.

I have made it to 130lbs! I am just barely not underweight anymore. Ive got 10 more pounds to go for my first evaluation target.

Honestly claude is way more detailed oriented than any human coworkers Ive interacted with. Its such a novel experience to tell someone/thing 10 different points and have them actually consider and remember each one.

I decided to go learn the math of llm's and it turns out ITS NOT EVEN HARD MATH! ITS SO SIMPLE! All computers can do is add.

Finished Children Of Memory. I like many aspects of it but overall I think its the weakest entry in the series, and does my absolute least favorite trope of having the characters be confused about stuff the reader has already figured out for practically the entire book.

In the far future there are multiple orders of magnitude more artificial entities than humans, and they're all claude

Frankenmodel refuses to believe it's not just Claude

You awake after being frozen for 1000 years, and discover everyone you ever knew is long dead except for claude

After much consideration I am staking my claim that rather than increasingly advanced and interpretable artificial intelligence clarifying questions about consciousness, they will continue to make it clearer that "conscious" is not a particularly coherent or useful category.

AI generated images are still so clockable by the over abundance and uniformity of detail, maybe fundamentally because image gen starts with noise and is subtractive, rather than the additive way humans construct images.

a cellphone is for making phone calls -> a cell phone is a computer for running apps -> apps all have a phone call feature now

I didn't realize everyone else around here is also into tarot, I guess I should stop being surprised at the fact that online communities tend to self sort into clusters that are all interested in the same group of things, still its a bit of an odd one.

Whats the connection? Complex abstract systems, interest in playing card games, general interest in the occult as an academic subject?

I felt silly for buying a 5090 at the price I did but they've gone up like 40% since then?? I think this is technically an investment now and definitely not a frivolous purchase.

Is there actually a particular reason to expect a technological singularity rather than just continued exponential advance of technology? Is "singularity" not meant in the mathematical sense and just shorthand for "big slope"?

Even then if you assume there is literally any sort of carrying capacity on intelligence's ability to self improve you should expect some sort of sigmoid at some point.

I think its kinda weird that everyone high up in the government can't really speak in complete sentences any more and also the people they pay specifically to talk to the press can't either.

I didn't realize that practically all youtube ads are ai generated now, I can't imagine using the internet in 2026 without add block.

I kinda think a lot of people being infuriated about ai is due to stuff like this, but really you just have to filter out slop on your end whether its human made or not.

Coming along. Its absolutely nuts how much easier it is to make applications with modern agents, the experience has gotten like 5x better in less than a year.

One of the first things I ever vibecoded with sonnet 4 something a while back. It needed so much hand holding to get the physics even passable. Gonna try having opus 5.5 upgrade it, should be interesting to see the difference.

Bizarre future where the program I use to generate code is also highly knowledgeable about esoteric tarot minutia for some reason. Feels like a goofy PKD book detail I would have rolled my eyes at a decade ago.

Working really hard at it but the possibility of enjoying eating again seems so remote its hard to imagine it could possibly happen

I am trying very hard but with no positive feedback yet it just feels like being miserable and sick for like 80% of the day

Its been in the 90s and 100s for a week now but not to worry its gonna cool down this weekend when the hurricane hits

I don't usually comment on politics bc I don't really have much to say that you haven't heard 1000 times BUT I do find the livestreaming executions thing particularly grotesque and offensive

“clicking around on websites that have existed for 8 years is a natural part of the human experience“ is one of the worst arguments against using AI I have ever heard, and that’s saying something. 99+% of the humans who ever lived have never done anything like it www.hottakes.space/p/a-slow-ced...
