Recently I only watch soccer when I'm around people who are already watching it or if it means something special to me (like when teams or the players I like are in the finals). The concept of it as "entertainment" is dead to me. I'd rather watch anything else tbh

2020, when I stepped into the job market at 25 years of age (mind you after 7 years of medical school) and saw the government couldn't offer me wages to support a 12 month loan (which allowed me to rent a home) I knew it was over. Whatever happened next doesn't matter. Iran lost this war decades ago

It's a tough time to live in this part of the world but if there's one thing the persians have taught the world is how to keep the flow going underground. For me that flow has been my focus on learning more about language. It's fascinating and never ceases to amaze.

is the remaining hope Iran has that democracy will eventually prevail in the US. No nation wishes war and death upon themselves unless they fear it inevitable. Trump is a very unlikeable person and I don't know many knowledgeable people who support his approach. /2

I would hate for him to get credit but his childish and impulsive manners (hopefully coupled by an eventual political defeat) are what keep the positive outcome of an intervention possible. Hope remains in the ruins for most Iranians; Hope of a sustainable uncensored future within these borders /3

We talked a little about the new items in the shop and reminisced about the last time I came through. Even though it was more than a year he still remembered. The store manager stopped to make sure we weren't talking and assigned him to another customer. I checked out the rest of the store on my own

It was time to check out and I silently stood by the counter because I could feel the tension in the room. I don't know what it is about some people. They just don't like to see others connect and communicate I guess... When the other customer left he came over to give me the receipt.
