My favorite thing about Twitter this week is that all the MAGA lunatics saying "Average Americans don't care about stock market" genuinely don't understand or realize their 401k and retirement is the stock market.

The cumulative (over 3 yr) xtra amount paid for eggs/ groceries, you know the receipts all over fox every holiday --is miniscule to amount those people lost in their retirement accounts in past 2 days. I used to say wait till they feel it in their wallet but after this weekI realize it's a cult.

Agree. Same here. Ive tried. Even with family and people i was certain i could "get through to". Debating in a swamp is noble, but don’t expect a clean exit. Sometimes, the best strategy is building higher ground.

Wajahat Ali@wajali.bsky.social

Folks, as a person who ventures into the right-wing swamp to debate, let me tell say there's no "reaching out" to Trump voters after 9 years. They live in a radicalized bubble. You don't owe them anything. Build & protect your own. They'll only learn through immense pain - & many still wont.

Those thinking that this was some sort of "catalyst" that Trump was waiting for to do the same (or worse) are clearly not paying attention. Trump would have (and will) abuse the pardon system regardless if Joe did or didnt use it for Hunter.

Trump was going to pardon anyone he wants no matter what Joe did for Hunter. Anyone pretending otherwise isn’t credible or hasn't been paying attention in the least.

Good. All for it. Hunter was just a means for them hurting and coming after Joe. If I were Biden I wouldn't stop there. Protect against as much political retribution as possible in the next month.

“President Joe Biden has decided to issue a pardon for his son Hunter, according to a senior White House official with direct knowledge of the decision.” www.nbcnews.com/politics/joe...

It literally doesn't matter at this point. It will mean nothing. He will get confirmed regardless and they will do so smiling. We need to continuously remember it's a cult--and it's scary. To their followers and base they literally can't do any wrong. It will always be somehow defended.

Pete Hegseth published a story saying sex with an unconscious woman isn’t rape. To be clear, he didn’t write it, but he published it. This is who Trump the misogynist, sexual predator relates to ~ other misogynistic sexual predators. It’s beyond disgusting. 🤢 www.snopes.com/news/2024/11...

Funny because its true, but also a stark reminder of how far we’ve strayed from normal governance. When the lines between entertainment, crime, and leadership blur, the stakes for democracy couldn’t be higher

Lefty grifter. Scott Dworkin (or something like that) ran it. Be careful a lot of lefty grifters out there that have seemingly ALL migrated here. They are not "resistors" or allies. They just want your follow and likes so they can monetize and feel good about their big accounts.

So right, there was an account “Palmer Report” that for years kept saying that Merrick Garland was going to save us all and kept attacking anyone who complained about Garland.

How about just 1 thing. He is unqualified and was only chosen to inflict political retribution. Do better NY Times.

What the hell has gotten into all these media companies and outlets?? One of the biggest missed stories of the year is how bad the media has been and how responsible they are for getting us into this mess.

Sadly, people have given up and just don't care anymore. He will get confirmed and they will do it smiling.. Looking back at authoritarian takeovers through history, this is what happens.. Population gets apathetic and nihilistic. We are currently here and need to wake up very soon.

I wonder if NY Times realizes "they" are partly responsible for how we got here. Their odd coverage and refusal to call out the insanity is why we are here in the first place.

Breaking News: President-elect Trump said he wants to replace Christopher Wray, the FBI director, with Kash Patel, a critic of the bureau who has called for shutting down the agency’s Washington headquarters, firing its leadership and bringing the nation’s law enforcement agencies “to heel.”

Really would love this if true. @aoc.bsky.social has uncanny ability to communicate and that's what's sorely needed now..She'll never get the far right lunatics but she CAN move ppl that we lost this year. Plus she'd crush it on podcasts and surprise people that have been "told" to dislike her.

According to ‘The Hill,’ AOC is considering a 2028 run for president. God strongly supports @aoc.bsky.social for president in 2028. She is brilliant and has the courage of her convictions. People follow courage.

Watching celebrity ‘resisters’ post screen shots of Elon Musk’s tweets from Mar a Lago on Bluesky reminds me of how f*cked we are and how many folks on the left got played by progressive grifters & socialites cosplaying as journalists. It’s an industry, not a movement. Don’t get fooled again.

True. I was suspended over there for simply pointing out Tesla self driving caused more deaths this year than any vaccine. Elmo didn't like that.

The irony is that most these guys cosplaying as Alpha males are the softest most sensitive men alive. Remember these are the same "alphas" who see need in punching down, worshipping leaders like trump, and signing up to things like Andrew Tate University.

The normalization of all of this is what's most sickening and freightening. Had media just given up entirely? Has any resemblance of checks and balances disappeared from our society?

Mehdi Hasan@mehdirhasan.bsky.social

1. Imagine how weird it is to just move to, and live, at Mar a Lago. 2. Imagine being people who spend their Thanksgiving at Mar a Lago. 3. Imagine how screwed up our media and political climate is that the richest man in the world just moving into the president-elect's house is totally normalized.

Agreed, but this must be more than a safe space—it should be a "lessons learned" and a launchpad. Left needs bold voices to compete with the Elons, Rogans, and Tuckers of the world. They have the ears of millions of disillusioned people. Left has no response right now to that.

The comment section over there is a deranged cesspool. Part of me really hopes its all bots because i cant live with reality that those are real people. So vile, disillusioned and misinformed yet walking amongst us in daily life.

He also ran a reelection campaign promising to put the working class first but has so far invited five likely billionaires to join his administration. When do you think the MAGA base will realize they were conned? Or will they ever?

I think the tally has now just hit 30 senior appointees by Trump in his previous or current Administration who worked at Fox, which seems to be the most important qualification for the most senior positions in the US government under Trump.
