I had the pleasure of meeting with the National Alliance for Care at Home for a conversation on how Congress can better support home health, hospice, and other forms of home-based medical services.

In the face of the GOP’s steep cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, I’m focused on finding ways Congress can close gaps in medical care and ensure every single American has the medical coverage they deserve.

Passenger rail expansion in our state and across the northeast corridor is long overdue—I will continue to explore all routes in Congress to further support the S-Line and transit expansion across North Carolina.

Our area is expected to continue the steep population growth that we have seen over the last decade, and we need to be equipped with the proper public transit options that will keep our communities connected.

In Congress, I will never stop working to ensure proper access to housing for every single American and I am grateful to see so many local organizations who are supporting our community in that fight.

Yesterday, I stopped by a social studies class at Culbreth Middle School where I had a long discussion with students about their concerns surrounding data centers and the current political climate.

I was grateful for the opportunity to join HOPE NC's Weavers Grove development ribbon cutting ceremony. While housing prices skyrocket across the country, I'm grateful to see local organizations help fill-in the gaps and will continue to fight for proper housing reform in Congress.

These land grabs and the continued destruction of Palestinian property are unacceptable and do not advance attempts to achieve peace. These actions are forcefully displacing innocent civilians from their homes and will only lead to further violence in the region.

It was my pleasure to join Duke University's summit on AI for health innovation! AI holds potential to greatly improve health outcomes and medical research, but we can only achieve those successes with responsible innovation and regulations to protect our communities.

Trump's weaponizing of the DOJ against Congresswoman Omar is completely unprecedented and unacceptable. This raid is yet another brazenly racist attempt to silence his political opponents while he demonizes Somali Americans, immigrant communities, and people of color across the country.

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

I am relieved that Reverend Gabriel Johnson, a constituent of North Carolina’s Fourth District, was released from ICE custody and is now transitioning to a rehabilitation hospital. However, Mr. Johnson’s story is one of many. Read my full statement.

As we continue to fight for the passage of Medicare for All, I’ll continue exploring all routes to support our local healthcare facilities and ensure they can continue providing quality care to our communities.

I am keeping the family and loved ones of firefighter Andrew Brokes in my prayers during this difficult time. Andrew dedicated his career to protecting North Carolinians, and today he made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

It was great to visit Rose Manor Health and Rehab in Durham to learn more about their efforts to provide comprehensive care to residents across our communities. While Republicans make cuts to Medicare, I’ll keep fighting for our local medical facilities and ensure they have the support they need.

It was great to join Jordan High School AP Government students for a discussion on the inner workings of government and Congress. These bright students are the future of our nation, and I cannot wait to see how far they will go!

The withholding of Teen Pregnancy Prevention grants by the Department of Health & Human Services from schools like Duke University is another attempt to divert funds obligated by Congress away from programs that help our communities, and into the pockets of this Administration.

I was deeply humbled to be recognized by ERA-NC Alliance for my support of the House resolution which recognizes the ERA as ratified by the required 38 states needed for it to become law. Congress must recognize the Equal Rights Amendment and take steps to end discrimination on the basis of sex.

It was a pleasure to meet with Willie Parker, a former Tar Heel and Pittsburgh Steeler, and the rest of the 39 Legends team to discuss their work providing assistance to underprivileged children in North Carolina.

While Congress falls behind in delivering results for our communities, and communities of color in particular—I'm grateful for the local organizations like 39 Legends that are picking up the slack.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, please join me in honoring breast cancer fighters, survivors, their families and caregivers and the loved ones we’ve lost. Breast cancer continues to affect millions of people around the world—don’t forget to get your annual screenings, it could save your life.

Republicans in Raleigh and Washington are making false claims about election security to disenfranchise voters. Republicans hold the majority in Congress, Republicans hold the Presidency and Republicans instigated an insurrection to overturn an election. The threats to our elections come from them.

I was honored to join Reset Tech’s National Day of Action Webinar on tech-enabled scams and fraud. AI-powered scammers are emptying Americans’ savings, and tech companies are refusing to take responsibility.

That’s why I was proud to introduce the SAFE Platforms Act, to protect Americans and shift the focus from blaming those who have been scammed, to holding companies accountable for knowingly allowing scams on their platforms.

Today marks 50 years since the #HydeAmendment was passed, leaving millions of women on Medicaid without the abortion coverage they need. Now is the time to end Hyde and put women’s reproductive health care over political games.

We had the opportunity to hear from experts, local officials, and North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Allison Riggs about Republicans' attempts to restrict access to the ballot box and how Congress can fight back.

In Washington, I will continue to fight for passage of the Judiciary Act to expand the Supreme Court, and passage of the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to strengthen the Voting Rights Act, in order to safeguard the right to vote for every single American.
