It might be “cheap food tastes better” but gpt-6-luna has handled anything I’ve thrown at it reasonably well and gpt-6.1-sol hasn’t been any noticeably better whenever it hasn’t.

Update: what I was missing is that the more expensive models just get there way way faster. So much less trying and failing. Probably need to try better harnesses.

Having seen how fast WeChat and AliPay’s QR Code readers are (on an iPhone!), Apple really needs to Get On It with the “Q” in QR Code.

I’m haven’t quite convinced myself that the new “is null” behaviour in C# 15’s new unions won’t have some unexpected results. Hopefully in practice “boxed null union values” are rare.

Slightly contrived example where C#15 unions are weird: someArrayOfObject.WhereNotNull().OfType<MyUnion>() // can still contain nulls Nullability warnings should catch it, I guess.

Makes the linq OfType and Cast analyser I wrote more relevant because linq doesn’t know anything about union, so they won’t be automatically unwrapped, and the analyser will call that out.

Wow seems like Microsoft removed all the PowerBI/Fabric Workspace Admin REST APIs leaving only the Tenant Admin ones. Really supporting least privilege admin there guys.

If I can share a report in the UI why not via the API?

Ps hate this pattern they’ve adopted where they duplicate everything to create seperate “admin” APIs so you’ve got to mix and match to do anything useful.

Bugs like this in Firefox for iOS that stay open for YEARS are incredibly frustrating, confidence destroying, disappointing, and make it impossible to recommend to others. Data loss bugs are the worst. I stick with Firefox for sync and to fight the Chromium monoculture but they don’t make it easy

And my current favourite, where a tab will be suspended but for some reason has to reload from the network instead of resuming. The tab will often be completely blank while this happens instead of showing the snapshot image Safari does this better :(

Ok rant over. But it’s really disappointing with the incredible power of modern devices, how poorly they function.

There’s also the Firefox for iOS bug where long press previews on links appear instead of the real context menu, even when they’re turned off. Those few months where it would just crash losing all the tabs. That thing where in poor network conditions a tab would just blank out and lose the url

Is there a good public policy reason for Fringe Benefits Tax being an employer liability rather than just part of the income tax calculation? Like the whole salary packaging “industry” must be a net public negative, right? A bunch of extra complexity, risk, and middlemen just to avoid some tax.
