It's been great getting back to normal today after the fire, and thank you to everyone who offered their help and support. We have a brilliant community. 🙂 Now, to the beer...

...this afternoon we launched Harvest Beer from @runawaybrewery.bsky.social It's made with green hops from Manchester and Hertfordshire and raw honey collected from the hillside opposite the pub. Last time we did this the bee keepers emptied the cask in 3 hours so this year we got 2 in. #BeerSky

We've plenty of other great beers coming on so pop down and help us clear the stockpile that built up in the cellar whilst we were closed. It's what you call a win win situation. 🙂 #BskyBeer

Following the fire earlier in the week, we are pleased to announce that the Fox & Goose will be reopening this afternoon (Friday 16th Oct) at 2pm. Please note it will be CARD ONLY and we will not be able to take cash payments for the time being.

We will be open at our usual times going forward. Thanks again for all your support and the hard work everyone has put in to get the pub back open as quickly as possible. Many thanks, The Fox & Goose Team

As many of you may already be aware, there was a fire at the Fox & Goose in the early hours of Monday morning. Thankfully no-one was hurt as the pub was shut and the flat above was quickly evacuated. The fire service managed to largely restrict the fire to the understairs storage area where it began

, but there is significant damage to this area, the stock held here and the mains electrics. We'd like to thank everyone for the messages of support and generous offers of help we have received since; we will let people know if there is specific help we need.

We are working to get the pub reopened as soon as possible within the next few days, but cannot do so until it is safe for staff and customers. Special thanks to those who have worked tirelessly to clean up the pub and repair the damage over the last couple of days. Many thanks, The Fox & Goose Team

In the wee hours of this morning we suffered a small fire. No one was hurt and the fire brigade brought it under control quickly. The damage isn't too bad but we'll be closed while we tidy up the pub and get things fixed up

Only a small delivery from @brasscastlebeer.bsky.social this time; don't worry they all pack a punch. Andrew's sure introductions aren't necessary for Bad Kitty or Crush. This time around Crush is showcasing the classic Citra-Chinook combo, and is bound to be a big hit. #BeerSky #BskyBeer

Tonight! (Weds) We're all set up for our Nightjar Brew Co Tap Takeover this evening and it's a great selection. If you'd like to learn about the beers, and the inspiration behind them, Matt and Jake will be here from 19:00. #BeerSky #BskyBeer

It's happening people! 30 Sep for our meet the brewer event with Matt and Jake from Nightjar Brew Co. Plus a delicious Nightjar tap takeover! Bargain. #HebdenBridge

It's on! Our collaboration with our friends at Nightjar Brew Co. Hebden Bridge. Whippet Good, a rather modern and rather delicious #Yorkshire bitter. Lovely colour too, fresh conker for reference.

1/3 Andrew's been buying every English hopped beer he can, so he jumped at the chance to do an English hopped bitter with Nightjar Brew Co. #HebdenBridge As a bonus their recipe uses two new hops, Boadicea and Godiva, from the Charles Faram hop development programme... #BeerSky #BskyBeer

Tonight! We're live on The Lycett Arms, join us in the pub, or on the telly!

The Fox and Goose@foxandgoose.org

Friday night! We're on the telly! Live! 🙃 Twinning with Joe Lycett's studio pub for the evening and spreading the word about community ownership of pubs. The filming takes place live between 10-11pm and there will be a rehearsal between 6-7pm.

How many hops do we need to make our own beer? It's only 2 years old, and has been completely neglected., so hopefully if we give it a bit of love we'll have enough next year. We've a couple of beers with locally grown green hops due in the next couple of weeks. Keep an eye out for them.

The pub will be open as usual all evening, and we'd love lots of our wonderful shareholders and pub co-owners to be present. You won't have to do anything other than be in the background of the shot as we zoom link into the studio (and of course if you prefer you can go and hide in the back room).

Lumbutts and Mankinholes are two of our favourite local place names. Oh, and Slack Bottom, obviously. Ahem.

We’ve had Andrew from @foxandgoose.org here today brewing a new lager called Bramble Nose, named from old #Yorkshire dialect for someone who has a big red nose from drinking too much 😉 hopped with British Bramling Cross and brewed with all British Malts for a very #BritishLager

Andrew has nobly pledged to be at the front of our queue when the bitter hits the pumps in a couple of weeks. Big thanks to Matt and Jake for making him so welcome. He's hoping they'll pop down to the pub once it's on for an informal meet the brewer session; watch this space for details.

Given the range of ace cask ales we get through we wish the younger generation every success in this impressive memory feat.

It’s being reported that younger beer drinkers are increasingly ordering the cask ales they remember their parents and grandparents drinking at the pub beertoday.co.uk/2026/09/03/c... #beer #beernews #caskale #realale

Andrew's looking to the NE this weekend as he's just got access to some fab breweries up there. This includes Wylam — he's had a couple of excellent pales so he's now bagged two casks — and North Pier, new to him, excellent reviews, and who wouldn't want a pint of Northern Best? #BskyBeer #BeerSky

1/2 Andrew thought we'd have a change of pace this week. Rather than hunting out new breweries we're returning to an old favourite, Linfit Brewery. Their English Guineas was his favourite on a recent trip to the Sair Inn. #BeerSky

2/2 We'll also have Harvest IPA, supporting young farmers, and Voices in the Sky, a hoppy pale from Turning Point. But he's most looking forward to Aretes, a West Coast Ipa from Trig Brewery, and Once in a Millennium, an East India Porter marking Blue Bee's 1,000th brew. #BskyBeer

1/2 Andrew's hot weekend line up; btw you're responsible for making sure they all get on... Buy beer! 🍺 First up, Plough On, a delicious English hopped mild from Trig Brewing came on today and is sure to fly out... #Beersky #Bskybeer

2/2 ...we've also a couple of casks of Mallinsons Brewing Company's latest special called Wiggle Room, a tasty blonde featuring Nectaron and Simcoe. Fingers crossed we'll also have an Olicana IPA from Brewsmith Brewery, which he's really looking forward to. #HebdenBridge

Geology fans, visit Calderdale for an opportunity to be preserved in stone, if you're lucky. Runners up will receive a lovely stroll and pleasing views.
