Last dog walk of the evening. neighbors listening to a “funny” story. A letter-carrier asked somebody to keep their little dogs away. She spoke as if it was ridiculous. “ Maybe he had a phobia or had been bitten.” “he was a big strong guy” everyone walked away. casual cruelty can’t be pointed out.
