SF rentals generally get a bad rep bc landlords & investors have more purchasing power to outbid families trying to buy that home. Personally the common sense solution is to look at housing policies that could allow more affordable housing types to be built instead of glazing landlords that buy them
Single-family rentals get a bad rap, but they also provide distinct benefits. The same home often rents for a lot less than it would cost to buy it, so rentals can serve less people. In our latest episode, we talk about how that matters for access to good schools: lewis.ucla.edu/2026/10/14/1...
Common sense approach, housing is a regional issue not a local one. Some cities are intentionally trying to kill developments that can address rising housing costs, primarily out of self interest
Massachusetts voters will decide a statewide ballot measure to override local zoning laws and mandate smaller minimum lot sizes. Aiming to increase affordable housing and ease a severe inventory crunch, the proposal mirrors efforts in Texas, Kansas, and Idaho to combat high home prices.

The assumption that when Trump leaves/dies that everything will go back to normal ignores the mechanisms put in place to abuse ppl domestically & abroad were put in place over multiple administrations. Until ppl grapple with their racism & privilege, we'll just have another Reagan or Trump in office

Fun fact, firefighters fight against single stair reform. A policy that would make it cheaper & faster to build multi-family housing is blocked due to outdated fire policies
Firefighters are unfortunately the source of a lot of bad road and building policy advocacy and politicians are less willing to tell firefighters they’re wrong because it can come across as them being pro-death. In a way it’s worse than police because it’s politically easier to disagree with police.
Ppl are advocating for investment in trains, buses, bike lanes & pedestrian infrastructure bc they don't want to rely on cars for daily life. The surveillance state doesn't care if you're in the burbs or the city, they can track drivers going across state lines for weed cannintel.com/laws/police-...

I couldn't be in politics or in a public forum; bc ADUs, townhomes & duplexes aren't a threat to any neighborhood & trying to articulate that w/o calling them boomer assholes would be difficult
After 1.5 hrs of presentations, we have our first question from a member of the public, and it is “what protections will there be for existing residential neighborhoods in the new zoning code?” 🫤
Think I'm going to skip GTA, I'm looking forward to Fable youtu.be/vjQNvjTF56o?...
Watching the gameplay trailer for GTA 6 is like seeing a trailer for the newest COD It's bigger, shinier and to someone outside of that cup and ball game space it looks like the same thing to me, just bigger and shinier Rockstar made everyone wait 13 years for basically a console upscale remaster
