Saw this medieval skull guy at Walmart and wasn’t leaving without it. Now one of my favorite books has some perfectly matched decor. My bookshelf is cooler than yours.

When you say, “Sorry for xyz, BUT…” all you’re really doing is spreading your cheeks and displaying just how big of an asshole you are. You don’t apologize while insisting that you are some kind of victim when nothing actually happened to you. If you’re sorry, say that. Only that. Maybe mean it.

I understand grief is a horrible thing to go through, Barbara, but you don’t need AI to perform necromancy for you. If someone presented me with an AI generated image of my loved one who recently passed, I would never speak to that person again. Intentions be damned.

Just learned that Genndy Tartakovsky based the T-Rex named Fang from “Primal” on his pet Saint Bernard. Which tracks because you can’t say “no” to Fang’s face. She’s too cute.

Nobody told me that an 84-year-old woman was the main character in the novel “The Haar”. And her name is Muriel so now I can ONLY picture her as Muriel from “Courage the Cowardly Dog”, and with the Scottish accent too since the story does take place in Scotland. That had to have been on purpose.

Morning town fog. This isn’t Silent Hill. But it could be. Honestly, my town does give off those purgatorial vibes. It even has that sort of unassuming, quiet, and definitely not haunted (😉) kind of name. Damn. Maybe I do live in Silent Hill.

I cannot express enough how good “The Troop” by Nick Cutter was. Disgusting, enraging, often times quite tragic. It is so well-written. I marked up sections I thought were fantastic. I’ve been trying to jumpstart my brain to get it in the mood to write, and my reading spree has 100% helped.

I actually forgot that I had this. I don’t reach for my dvds that often. Will definitely be watching it later. Might as well just go for one of the scariest movies tonight. Why not.

This is probably the most depressing book I’ve read in a while, and that’s saying something. It’s like someone took The Offspring’s song “The Kids Aren’t Alright” and made a book out of it.

It’s extremely vague on the actual horror elements, which could be by design since it’s from a dog’s perspective. And it’s extremely difficult to sell a movie about a dog without humanizing the dog. The spooks needed to be more fleshed out. But I enjoyed this.

If you were hosting a party for a bunch of crpytids, who would get an invite? I’m trying to come up with a very small story idea. I’m trying to think of which cryptid would definitely get an invitation.

Bigfoot would also be attending but would have to drag his smellier cousin Skunk Ape along, much to Bigfoot’s chagrin. I feel like the Squonk would spend the entire time crying in a corner, all emotional that they even got invited at all.

Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."

So short for how good it was and it leaves a strong impression of eeriness. The ending is definitely going to give me nightmares because that was actually insane. Lots of Celtic folklore/mythology references in this one, too, ranging from subtle to horrifying.

Finished this a few days ago. Incredibly well-written. I cried. Several times. But it’s not a book for the weak. If you don’t like your fantasy with an overdose of horror, this isn’t the book for you. It’s brutal.

Why is it always the whiniest people who defend AI? “Yeaaahhh but AI is cool 😫.” No, communities having access to water they shouldn’t have to sacrifice to AI data centers is cooler.

I will gaslight myself into thinking everything is fine and I’m just stressed if it means not going to a doctor. Because a doctor will probably just gaslight me anyway. I guess we’ll find out if and when I end up in the ER.

Did the newest South Park episode shock and offend you? Wait until you hear about “Woodland Critter Christmas”. Or that time Cartman made a bully eat his own parents in front of Radiohead in "Scott Tenorman Must Die". Don’t be weak.
