WIP video of my 404 page progress, since I think i'm starting to get into a direction I like. Still want to add a fun little illustration, but still planning that one out. (Also I made sure that turning on Reduce Motion prevents the glitch from happening)

BioWare made some of my favorite games I love to this day. What is going on in the games industry breaks my heart.

Consolidation is killing our industry. The Gamergaters who make money off the rage game will have you think this is a victory. This is purely a loss. A loss of work and art and fun and expression in a space that desperately needs it. Massive fucking bummer.

Craft day this weekend, and I have a backup project planned now if the fabric I ordered doesn’t arrive in time with some fabric I own. Of course that project has hardware that I am anxiously checking shipping notifications for to see if it will arrive in time.

Been playing with this more after work, absolutely loving it so far. Still definitely getting the hang of the UI a bit but overall it’s been great.

I have a craft day planned for this weekend with friends (yay!). However, in this age of “no more Joann’s” I am not anxiously checking my order status of fabric to see if the fabric for my project is going to arrive in time, or if I will need to pivot projects.

I finally launched my redesign of my website this weekend, after probably two plus years of overthinking it/starting it over several times.

Can’t wait to see this!

Can't believe that in less than 4 weeks I will be in Brighton to give a talk about how I build CSS DOOM at @ffconf.org Despite being on my bucket list to attend and speak for at least 10 years, I never managed to visit. But this year I will do both.✨ 🎟️ Tickets are still for sale: 2026.ffconf.org

Okay, did it. Definitely not perfect, but sometimes perfect is the enemy of posting anything. sarahfrisk.com

sarahfrisk.comHi, My name is Sarah! - Sarah FriskI'm a UX Engineer specializing in crafting design systems, scalable front end applications, and helping to bridge the gap between design, product, and engineering.

Tempted to just release my site redesign now, because i'm definitely in the Zone of Constantly Tweaking It, and need to just put it out there.

I originally built out a version that sits on a dev server somewhere in Nuxt, but I didn't quite love the design, and I ended up eventually opting to just starting over in Astro. A lot of the art of me that I drew came from the original Nuxt version of the site.

I also built out an entire design system for Vue for that website. Future project might be pulling that out of that codebase so I can use it for my random side projects (been working on some D&D tools for my partner).

I really want to paint these.

Get a first look at flyers in STAR WARS: Legion, a new unit type bringing iconic ships like X-wings, TIE fighters, Vulture Droids, V-wings, and Fang Fighters to the tabletop. Hear from the studio team on why flyers are coming to the game and what makes them so exciting! https://youtu.be/Kzbfnp-Rly4

I painted a fun goopy guy for our monster fight in our dungeons and dragons game last night.

Sarah Frisk@friskymakes.bsky.social

This tarpit monster came out delightfully goopy looking. This was definitely fun paint job and I am not at all salty that my camera struggles to pick up all the details.

we need to be having conversations about Google's influence on web standards because it's increasingly apparent they are using their influence to cause harm as long a number goes up

Updated this post to reflect the completely predictable result that ~30% of the 100 top English-language content websites are now using Google's Prompt API for browser fingerprinting, Google Advertising profiling, or both. The purpose of a system is what it does. eupolicy.social/@thatprivacy...

Honestly super looking forward to going to this next month. Also if anyone has suggestions for. Oil things to see in that area in November, let me know!

This is pretty much my go to app for pixel art.

Hands down this is one of my favorite Podcasts. Even if you aren’t a cartoonist, there is a ton of great advice for living a creative life and Brad and Dave always find a way to make me laugh

Is there a limit to how many cartoonists can build successful careers—or is the real limiting factor the cartoonists themselves? comiclabpodcast.com Apple Podcasts: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/c... Spotify: open.spotify.com/show/3xJpaHp...

This is so pretty

Know the animated 🌈 border + glow effect that's all the rage? It's normally done by adding an opaque cover on top of two 🌈 layers. But what if we wanted a (semi)transparent background within the border? It's possible with pure #CSS! Heavily commented on @codepen.io: codepen.io/thebabydino/...

I got to do a guest lecture last week for university students on the importance of accessibility in software engineering. Haven’t done talks in awhile (used to do a bunch at local meetups pre pandemic), but do find myself occasionally missing it.

The number of times I have wished meetings had this accessibility feature. . .

comiCSS@comicss.art

The latest comiCSS strip is about web accessibility and my "love" for meetings. It was inspired by a Twonks cartoon, giving it a web development/accessibility twist. comicss.art/comics/259/ As usual, it is coded using HTML and CSS. #comic #cartoon #accessibility #humor #joke #a11y

Today is a working in personal site day. “Stole” back the minatures I painted for the dnd game so I can make do some glamour shots of them on my iPad, so I can maybe have a section of the site showcasing creative stuff I make.
