Welp, Hellraiser: Revival got me my first content strike on YouTube. So that'll be a Twitch only playthrough I guess! (Of course, it was for the fully-clothed scene at the kink club, not for any of the much more relentless violence and gore.)

If you haven't played these two games, I would run don't walk to pick this bundle up. Both masterpieces.

Red pages. Blue memos. Two rooms. Two Brothers. Two unforgettable experiences. Not only are both Myst & Blue Prince 40% off right now, but you can save an additional 15% with the aptly named Red & Blue Bundle! @cyan.com @dogubomb.bsky.social

Just got back from Resident Evil and we loved it! Everyone was right that it was surprisingly laugh-out-loud funny, but also effective as a horror movie. I'll definitely rewatch it once it comes out for home viewing.

Really enjoyed wrapping up The Blood of Dawnwalker today! I was concerned the game wouldn't be able to satisfyingly stick the landing, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'll definitely be thinking about this game for a while. Much recommended!

Myst (1993): First game that immersed me in a world, gave a sense of escapism. Also connection, solving puzzles with friends & family. Theme Park (1994): First game that was mine, not the whole family's. First game I got to express creativity and make something the way I wanted it.

Chrono Trigger (1995): First game that truly wowed me in terms of story, characters, music, and mechanics. A total package. Made me realize games could be art. The Sims (2000): First game I ever got addicted to. I probably have put more time into The Sims franchise than any other to this day.

I enjoy our neighborhood Opossum, but I'd like to formally request it please stop pooping in our yard since (one of) my dogs can't be trusted. (He knows who he is 🧐)

One thing I like about Coen from The Blood of Dawnwalker is that yes, he's hot, but he's not unapproachably so. He looks & feels like a real person, and a lot of his appeal comes from his character writing. And for some of us, personality is the hottest thing of all, so well done there.

I specifically avoided everything about the OOT remake except the release date, so shortest Direct of all time! Might pick up the Zelda Pro Controller. Also might go to the concert if it comes my way. Sad no Twilight Princess release on Switch online or remaster like Skyward Sword.

TBH there wasn't much in that State of Play that really wowed me. We got release dates for FFVII Revelation & Until Dawn 2, which was nice I guess. Rhapsody in Scarlet looks interesting but I'm not 100% convinced just off the one trailer. Ghost of Yotei DLC updates are cool.

The most interesting part was the like 3 minutes they gave to some smaller games. Excited to see Keeper make it to PS5 so I can finally play it. Hunter's Moon looked intriguing. But the most interesting was Uncanyon, which gave me a bit of TUNIC vibes, in the best way. Looking forward to those.

Finally got my Platinum in Nightreign. I've had one last trophy sitting there staring at me for months now, and after the Duskbloods network test, I got the urge to just go finish it. Still an amazing game, and I'd really love to see one last update for it.

Really great video on Pitbulls & the misinformation out there. As a proud dad of two ambiguous "mixed breed" dogs, this is something I'm hyper attuned to and it's great to see it broken down so clearly. If you ever hear Pitbull stats thrown out there, you might want to know where they come from.

Coming tomorrow. Make sure you set reminders and follow if you haven’t; this is one deep dive that goes unexpected places. youtu.be/VVvzcIYV-XM?...

So, we watched Scream 7 and well, it definitely was something. I mean, it was fun in its way. Had some good sequences and interesting kills. But as a story, what even was happening? This might be the most incomprehensible group of nothing-burgers I've ever seen.

Thing is, I think there's a version of this story that could've really worked. A tale of an aging fandom, touching on concepts of purity testing and gatekeeping. But instead they just... kept giving us nothing, despite several great actors' attempts to breathe life into it.

Really great! The horror was effective and the main characters were really sympathetic. It will obviously have different layers or resonance for different people, but I definitely think queer audiences will find a ton here that's relatable and powerful.

I really liked the way the film presented places that are traditionally viewed as "safe spaces" (home, school, church), from the perspective of those who may find those the least safe places in their lives. A very well-conceived film, through and through.

Patch notes for the Tarnished Edition of Elden Ring just dropped, and one line stood out. I'm gonna need more details on this, cus I suspect this means they're sprinkling some DLC weapons into the base game, which is precisely what I wanted. 🧐

I'm also really glad to see the update comes with some balance changes, particularly buffs to some really underperforming spells, and improvements to the smithscript weapons. Not sure if great shields needed the buffs but... Cool I guess.

Brief thread of my thoughts on the 6 Duskblood characters we got to play during the network test. I played at least one game with everyone, and won matches with three of them. I'm really impressed with the balance between these characters and am really looking forward to the rest.

As I said, I'm really impressed with the overall balance between these very different characters. I'm also very curious who else they'll bring to the table with the full release. I can see room for a true caster type, or a full dex style character, as well as someone who prioritizes their summon.

Senator Patres was my favorite, and I won several rounds with him. I played him a bit like a spellblade, flitting in with some quick melee then backing off to hit with some powerful midrange attacks. His grab is stupid fun, but I also think he has a high skill ceiling for those who want it.

Zork is Zork. I really loved how his moves had extra poise so you could tank through weaker attacks and keep the pressure up, and his rocket man ability was just *chef's kiss*. He's a powerhouse at both close and mid range, and will be a highly picked character for sure.

Trang Lanh was my second favorite character. What she lacked in pure lethality she made up for in trickiness and a strong midrange game with her thrown blades. I also suspect she'll be a really solid pick for people who'd rather prioritize PvE and gaining pledge virtue over all-out brawls.

Layla is quite clearly the strongest ranged character, with an absolutely devastating rifle. This makes her great both for PvE, picking off weak enemies and dealing with strong foes from a safe distance, but also for sneaky PvP, and I expect her to be a highly picked character.

Albert (aka John Duskblood) had the most approachable moveset and was a lot of fun, as befits the signature character. That said, he didn't feel like he had quite as much potential as some of the others. I'll really be curious what his other abilities are in case they push his ceiling higher.

Bloodhand Jan is the most in-your-face melee character, and utterly devastating in close quarters. His axe did good stagger and I can see him being a favorite for PvP veterans who know how to keep opponents on the back foot. He's weak at range, but has plenty of ways to close the gap.
