i know im all cute and eepy on VR all the time and often horizontal but im beginning to wonder if this cute eepy state may also be known as whoops ssleep disorder

I desperately want search results that deprioritize AI generated stuff, affiliate link garbage, and thinly veiled sales attempts. Even bought Kagi for several months but it now seems to suffer the same problems. I just want information, man... it's driving me mad

Can't figure out a good way around it yet. do I just start every search from Wikipedia now? lol it's at the point where sometimes I've been defaulting to physical books for certain topics because I'm not able to stomach digging through marketing / slop

maybe a lil early to be thinkin about it, still a few months left in the year, but does anyone know of anyone who makes furry wall calendars?

had a long document that was too many pages to staple and ended up in a lil rabbit hole apparently all you need to bind a book is glue, paper, binder clips, and a scrap of cloth or somethin for the spine theres something rly fun and satisfying about a lil project that takes just a few hours ^^

now the only problem is i'm looking for excuses to print and bind more books together instead of reading the document i had prepared in the first place

Depression is scary shit, man. It's so insidious. I only realized after lifting partly out of it and looking back in retrospect, how severely it used to cloud my judgement and my relationships with people. It's hard to overstate how much VRC has helped with that over the past several years

but, i know that if past-me were reading this, i'd probably be like, "easy for you to say, I don't have those kinda friends"... and, well, i get it... it took me years to start to feel a little bit more settled and comfortable reaching out, and to learn how to do it without overwhelming people

i hope it's at least a little bit reassuring that while it took time, I can now look back and clearly distinguish "past me" vs "current me". it can't be forced overnight, but it's something you can gently move yourself in the direction of, to try and open up to, and get somewhere over time

When I look back to how I felt around 2018-2019 or so, and compare that with how I feel now, it's such a night-and-day difference that it's kind of scary. I still have my depressive moments, but having some level of social structure to keep things afloat has been kinda life-changing.

One thing that has served me well when I'm feeling down, is to lean towards connection rather than isolation. It feels WAY healthier to go like "gggwwwwwwuuuhhhh" at a friend for a while and have them pet u while you watch a video, than to start to isolate yourself and dig a deeper pit to lie in.

sometimes it's a struggle for me to fight back against the part of me that wants to conform to what I perceive to be everyone's expectations, or to value the things I make based on numbers. but i know it's more fulfilling to put just what I want to put out there, and see who it resonates with

sorry to everyone who's friends with me on discord that got a notification bc i changed my status to "🍔 Burger"

thinkin back to a high school friend who was not chill at all about furries and would say stuff like "are these really the kind of people you want to associate yourself with?" years later, the answer is HELL yea, ive never felt so loved and supported just for layin on the floor and saying "woof"

real talk tho, i'm feeling grateful at the moment. even in moments where i'm feeling gloomy, or in moments where it feels like other things are going to shit, it's been a relief to have vr communities and nice friends to fall back on

TLDR: Fur Affinity's advertising partners are demanding that they ban adult content. Sciggles and FA want to firmly tell them to go fuck themselves. If they're going to be able to afford to do that, they need the community's help. Pitch in. Keep furry weird. www.furaffinity.net/journal/1143...

to be honest tonight i'm kinda feeling like a 100 million particle moose dropped on a right-angled wedge. Y'know it's just one of those 100 million particle moose dropped on a right-angled wedge nights, that you get. I wish there was a youtube video to convey this commonly felt shared experience

finally got around to watching the movie Airplane! (1980) last night in VR. I can see why it's a classic, was really fun. ^^ there were a few gags to sit through that were very.... uh, dated. 😭 but the overall pacing and sense of humor was great. i gotta watch some more old comedies
