I've been thinking about doing something like this for a while; just writing about how I'm feeling and what's going on with me lately, and I think I really needed to. It's made me feel a bit of relief already. If you care enough to read it at all, thank you for your time.

The further I get into FE: Fortune's Weave the more kinda dumbfounded I am by some of its decisions. I'm playing Leda's path and her whole thing is she REALLY wants to kill this one guy. Well this one guy is literally in the overworld in Part 2? I can just go up and talk to him like it's nothing

As part of the story I discovered a pair of supposedly-chivalrous knights aiding in the transport of some highly ominous and illegal cargo, which led to us coming to blows and the characters wondering if there's a larger conspiracy at play -

And again I can literally just bump into em in the overworld right after & chat to them as if nothing happened & as if we didn't just become enemies. One of them even gives me a *sidequest* to retrieve an heirloom of his sister's?? Many chapters later, I'm fighting him again?? What are we doing here

Imagine in FF7 you - as Cloud, just bumped into Sephiroth in the overworld and he was like "hmm...I'm pondering some evil stuff..." That's Sephiroth!! Go get him!!

Am I the only one finding Fire Emblem to be a disappointment? Every recruitable unit outside of my main 5(???) feels more like a coworker than an ally. We talk about the football and Taylor Swift for 5 mins and then have to do 2 hours of wagie tasks before we get to actually play the game

It feels Shadow Dragon-esque the extent to which companions are showing up in my party w no insight as to who they are & having no relationship w anyone else. This guy Zarcone exclusively talks about killing & stealing in the overworld non-stop & now he's in my party he's basically mute. WHO ARE YOU

I feel the same way about Xbox as I do about the American Empire. It's like, we all know you guys are on your way out. Can y'all just pack it up already so we can move on

AAA Gaming is expensive. Not like playing 2019 indie gem "A Short Hike" or watching 1992 western classic "Unforgiven", so here's my review of those, among many other things instead; because I Can't Afford Wolverine. New video, check it out now 👇 youtu.be/RvR_3Srh-Kc

I've been trying to figure out for the life of me what it is that OOT Young Link's face reminds me of in this render and I finally got it it's the fuckin baby covered in peanut butter

I resigned from Palette Swap today. I spent the last 3 years typing "Aerith GAINSborough Protein Powder" in the pitch channel and never once received a single upvote. The company is not acting responsibly. They are racing straight to pretentious humour & gambling with our laughs. More thoughts below

Yeah I saw Kingdom Hearts 4 spoilers via a steam leak. There were noxious fumes in my house and I hallucinated Homer Simpson with a donut Keyblade

These dudes in Nintendo Directs are such chuds lol "Please talk to all the NPCs 🥺" "Please try playing at night 🥺" Take some initiative. BE A FUCKING ALPHA

I was at All In live on Sunday night and my voice still hasn't fully recovered Had Roman Reigns been there and stared down his far-more talented opponent for 15 mins before defeating him with 3 spears in the name of cinema? I may never have been able to speak again

Biggest pop of the night outside of the main event was honestly probably Sting coming out Proof if you've ever needed it that we are all still children deep down. Get a bunch of people in a big room and turn the lights out and we WILL scream

We said goodbye to Ted today. We'd had him since January of 2012 when he was just a kitten. He loved people so much, all he wanted to do was sit with people and be fussed. I've never known a more affectionate creature, and I've long dreaded the day I couldn't have him around any more

For the 15 years he was with us, he entertained and amused us endlessly. He was definitely a few screws loose after the car accident, and so loved to get in the tumble dryer when you weren't looking. One time, my Mum *actually* tumble dried him for a bit without realising

Ted was such a character that he's been in my videos multiple times. He HAD to be, everyone I know needed to see this beautiful, hilarious creature Goodbye Ted. My heart is heavy but I know you're at peace now. Thank you for all the years of joy, I love you so, so much buddy <3

We made an effort to watch him in shifts overnight. To get him acclimated to walking again, we bought a harness and would walk him around the front garden (often to very curious looks from strangers, lol) Miraculously, despite what the vets had told us; he lived on. He turned 15 this week

I've never known a cat like him. When he saw you outside in the garden, he'd bound over to you like a dog. He was ALWAYS happy to be picked up, to be stroked. He'd practically start purring the moment you touched him. We thought we'd lost him at 2 years old, but we got 13 years of bonus time

When Ted was less than 2 years old he was a hit by a car, the driver left him a bloodied mess in the road. We took him to the vets who assured us he had no chance of survival. We figured if he was gonna die, he might as well die at home surrounded by his loved ones

Here's a little thread of thoughts related to the topic of the last couple videos: Modern mainstream media has abandoned the child/teen audience almost entirely, but there is a subsection of creatives out there who are making what *should* constitute a renaissance in this field; Indie Game Devs

Yeah, some break through every year, but how many don't? How many hundreds of brilliant indie games come out every year to little fanfare and disappointing sales? It's a lot! They're every bit as deserving of iconicity as any of Nintendo's classic catalogue, but they exist in a different time.

This is to say that - in the modern Indie Devs, there's an entire generation of creatives out there making games good enough to spark a kind of cultural renaissance for the industry, if only we could get kids to play them too. That's the next step imo, at least after we put Elon in The Brazen Bull

Because kids aren't really playing indie games from Steam. They're playing Fortnite or Roblox, or something based on one of those many old IP we were raised on. Star Wars, Marvel etc. This is why the Cultural Dark Age is prescient even if you can point out incredible art being made,

The point isn't that great art - like the modern Indie Game isn't coming out, it's that it isn't hitting the mainstream. The conditions aren't right for it to enter the zeitgeist. Great art is still everywhere, but it's buried under a sea of, for lack of a better word; slop. Dominated by nostalgia.

I don't think this is a hot take but the stuff being pumped out year-on-year by indie devs is as every bit as good as the games from the N64 era that we're all still nostalgic about. In another time, Denshattack & Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom would have been fondly-remembered Dreamcast exclusives,

I played The Plucky Squire last year and really enjoyed it, but also couldn't help but feel that I wasn't the target audience. I've thought a lot about how much kids would love that game, how it's *designed* for them, but how few of them have likely played it, or will ever play it
