I sometimes talk golf. Otherwise I talk life. I live in Scotland’s west coast.

A wee bit about myself since I’m new here, my handle is my nickname since childhood, I don’t use my real name as I work with vulnerable people. My profile picture is my son, I’ll occasionally appear in photos along with Aurora. I’m currently on a sabbatical from playing golf, might return soon.

My home town has a foood barrier, basically a wall that pops up to close off the road to the river. It’s designed for a 20 year storm. The 20 year storm hit at the weekend and somebody forgot to push the button, flooding the town. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

bbc.co.ukRenfrew flooded after council failed to activate barriers during Storm BoeloRenfrewshire Council said "predicted tide levels" for the storm did not meet the threshold needed to use the flood barriers.

My neighbours across the street have builders in. They have been causing parking chaos for weeks. What a shame the Portaloo in the garden has been blown over by #StormBoelo which is now leaking all over their garden.

I put a comment on Twitter about my son sleeping in and cutting it fine for his driving test. Don’t know why but Twitter promoted it to 1m+ users in the For You. I’ve spent the last 3 days receiving all sorts of lovely messages about my parenting skills 🖕

My son has his driving test this week, so naturally today the car decides to turn itself into a giant kettle thanks to this housing being inexplicably being made out of plastic. So I need to fix this tomorrow or we're bust.

My 14 year old son is doing photography as part of his Duke of Edinburgh award. Gave him my old dSLR last year and he's been mucking about with it since. He came back today with these.

I’ve never been a fan of Chinese food (just my taste buds) but when I was in Vegas I ended up in a Panda Express and really enjoyed it. I’ve now attempted honey hot chicken with fried noodles, all from scratch, and dear reader I have absolutely nailed it 😊

Changed my driveshaft. It’s been vibrating under load for the last 6,000 miles so I’ve got my moneys worth. £80 and about 3 hours. This is the heaviest engineering I’d attempt on a car.

Summer 2026: Virgin Atlantic were a few hours late with my flight. I bought the family dinner in the airport, put in a claim, had it approved within 3 days and money in the bank within 7 days. Compare with: Summer 2024: British Airways cancelled my flight by 24 hours. Took them 4 hours to return

my luggage. They then lost my luggage. A week later my luggage turned up at Tampa but they refused to deliver - I collected. They then put me on standby for the return and denied boarding. Home 12 hours late. Took them 5 months to respond to my claim, then paid the wrong amount.

I’m currently sitting in an unbelievable location. Almost in the middle of the River Eden. St Andrews off in the distance, and the golf courses Eden, Stath, Old, New and Jubilee in this photo.

A picture perfect day at Kingsbarns today (if you ignore the quality of my golf) #Scotland #golfsky ⛳🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️ Oh, and we're on the Old Course tomorrow!

Spent 4th July 250 in the USA. It was far more understated than I was expecting, just another Saturday in many places. But went down to the town of Celebration for fireworks and music, which was nice.

Two ostriches. The one closest to us we call Brian. The other one is Dave. We think Dave is a female/hen. We call him Brian because there’s a guest in the room opposite who held a 2 hour conference call on his verandah this morning and the whole savannah heard what he thinks about Brian in his work
