I'm going to share this classic from 2019. It was created on that other site by a Wall Street Quant, and from what happened since, it looks to be incredibly accurate. #JeffreyEpstein #Epsteintapes #Republicans

I'm a caregiver for an elderly Parkinson's patient, and the giant organization that just gobbled up the hospital, locked me out of the support website for the past week. Tried to unlock the account, and got this not-at-all-useful response. #enshittification

To follow up, I received the medications today. For some reason, UPS had a sticker for a different address on the back side of the package and delivered the package to that one instead. I have supplied all this data to Mr Cuban.

I'm aware that there is a tradition of posting pictures of one's meals. I had a breakfast custom made for me, by a Cordon Bleu trained chef. Mexican rice, refried beans, chorizo, stewed plum tomatoes, feta cheese and two sunnyside eggs. Absolutely astounding, and it cost me $5.99.

I want to make sure Professor @jeffjarvis.bsky.social sees this. He has been ranting about the #brokentimes for quite a while.

🧵🧵🧵 The NY Times posted a 15-minute video today in which I got to tell NYT what’s wrong with its coverage. They said they saw my critical posts on Bluesky and invited me to do a video with them to air my grievances. Weird, right? I didn’t hold back. I blasted their sanewashing of MAGA extremism.

I'm out seeing movies, and this is the air quality in the theater. Theaters, especially ones that have been converted to recliners, have the best air conditioning and air quality. #covid #covidsafe

Just listened to @twit.tv "Intelligent Machines" and Leo mentioned something that I've been using for years - azelastine nasal spray. I saw this study in JAMA Internal Medicine, and combined with being up to date on vaccines and using BLIS K12 lozenges, I've never had a symptomatic case of covid.

jamanetwork.comAzelastine Nasal Spray for Prevention of SARS-CoV-2 InfectionsThis randomized clinical trial evaluates the efficacy of azelastine as a preexposure prophylaxis against SARS-CoV-2 and other respiratory pathogens.

This is how I stay covid safe while put seeing movies. I go early on the days when no one else is there (retired), keep up to date on vaccinations, wear a @flomask.bsky.social in public areas, and choose theaters that I know have good air exchange. Here's the CO2 level in the theater I'm in:

Just to remind everybody who is being careful, my favorite N95/N99 respirator, the @flomask.bsky.social, is available for 25% off. This will combine with existing discounts, so you may be able to get a full respirator kit for 50% off. Use code BTS2026. #covid #covid19 #covid-19

The one on discount has European safety markings, but is otherwise exactly the same device. Unfortunately, it is only available with the high nose bridge that I wear, they're out of stock for the low nose bridge for people of African or Asian heritage (like its inventor, Kevin Ngo.)

Dear YouTube, What is it going to take to let you know that I never, ever, under any circumstances, wish to see anybody "react" to anything, ever? Please, take all reaction videos and shove them where the sun doesn't shine. Sincerely, Chris.

There has never been a "bad year for movies", although there have been years with an extraordinary number of great films. When we lived in Chicago, my late wife managed to see 662 films in the theater in a single year. There is always something worth watching.

Spooky Sasquatch@nerdysasquatch.bsky.social

There's been so many good movies out this year. Anyone who still insists that "cinema is dying" or "good or original movies aren't being made anymore" is both lying to you and desperately needs to see more movies.

I want to make sure that professor @jeffjarvis.bsky.social sees this.

Want a covid shot? (I hope so.) Here's a gift 🎁 link that provides new info: 🔹️All 3 US vaxxes are approved & will be available soon 🔹️Covid cases are currently increasing in 47 states. The WaPo says that rates are mostly still "low," but note, as I've previously posted,... 1/6 wapo.st/3Sg16fr

For those who are wanting some information about FLOCK cameras, check out the most recent @twit.tv This Week in Tech featuring Auto journalist Sam Abuelsamid and fresh from Defcon, digital Jesuit @padresj.bsky.social where they security tested genuine FLOCK hardware. Starts 1 minute 58 seconds in.

Listening to @twit.tv This Week in Tech and @padresj.bsky.social brought up the stealthiness of owls. I was walking home late the other night, and one of the bunnies in my yard just missed being a crunchy snack when this owl swooped over my head. He hung out on my neighbor's overhang for a bit.

This is #BandcampFriday. You should check out music by Happy Rhodes. She was my late wife's favorite singer-songwriter, and when we learned she had cancer, she had one wish - that Happy would come to Kansas City and do a show for her. She did, and later ran a GoFundMe to send us to Alaska.

I saw the new film The Odyssey by Christopher "Mumbles" Nolan. I enjoyed it quite a lot, but as usual, having a caption unit helped quite a lot. AMC BarryWoods 24 #filmsky #theOdyssey

Here in Kansas City, it's $20 a month for four films a week. If I see all four films in a particular week, that brings each movie down to $1.83.

shout out to AMC A-List, the subscription I refuse to get rid of the most

Since posting this, I re-watched it. Apparently, Mel's participation was the director's introduction to a lot of amazing interview subjects, including Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Colin Powell. She asks the General if she can fix his tie, and he replies that Mel could just sit there looking like a slob!

I'm looking at this as a replacement for my brother's 2000 Ford Ranger which is on its second transmission, and it doesn't do anything except carry appliances and move a ton of gravel occasionally, and has never approached a hundred miles in a day. One I can charge overnight at 3 cents kw/hour.

It's a normal, cheap EV truck. I think we're about to find out how many people don't actually want a huge vehicle.

I just ordered a three month supply of nine different medications from Mark Cuban's Cost Plus drugs for *less* than the copay my insurance company demands! I know some people have issues with him, but realistically this is the best thing any billionaire has ever done for me. @mcuban.bsky.social

We were representing the only heating, cooling and plumbing company who showed up. We figure most folks would prefer to do business with a company that respects them and their family, friends and loved ones.

A piece of data on the efficacy of hypnosis, @dansavage.bsky.social My late mother delivered me and two of my sisters under hypnosis. No drugs, the osteopath implanted the post-hypnotic suggestion that she would feel no pain and that it would be a beautiful experience. She swore that it was true.

There's a 12-ft tall bridge in Kansas City, that inspired some pretty awesome art:

There are many bad things but one that is giving me joy: Our notorious underpass known as the Can Opener (because it will skin the top off semis that go under it) has eaten five trucks in 36 hours thanks to an interstate closure. The Can Opener is well fed. My city will prosper this year.

Listening to the Material podcast, and Andy @ihnatko.bsky.social bemoaned not being able to go in and change all of his past tech predictions. Could be worse! I was working for Forrester Research which memorably titled one of their reports "Amazon.Toast"
